WI is going to spend $250 million to take a coal-burning energy plant that works fine, and replace it with a "biomass" plant that can not produce any electricity.

Even Europe has figured out that using nuclear power is the best way to go, but because of environmentalist and other liberals who constantly worsen the quality of life for everyone keeps proving that they are insane.

Good.
I know the easy thing to do is blame oil companies.
I have tried to explain why oil companies are making more money, but some here don't seem to have enough upstairs to understand this easy concept.
But this is how liberalism works, you play off people's emotions and look for easy, big-government regulated answers.
It is not that easy.
This is not hard to figure out:
1. If you tax a business, what are they doing to do: Raise prices to get back that money lost. So when they tax the profits of a company, they are raising your taxes.
2. Oil companies have nothing to do with the price of a barrel of oil, that is controlled by GWB (jk)...that is controlled by supply and demand. Since environmentalist idiots have made sure we have no increased supply, the fact that demand has gone through the roof makes the price go up.
3. There is nothing we can do about the fact India and China are taking up more and more of the worlds oil.

Here is what we SHOULD do:
1. Drill for our own oil.
2. Look for ways to use less oil
3. Build more nuclear plants.

Now, liberals will argue that it will take years to drill and build plants...well, Clinton vetoed a bill to drill in Alaska 12 years ago...we would be getting that oil now.

I agree we need many, many more nuclear power plants, but otherwise this is crap.
What happens if we cut carbon emissions by half?
Who is going to cut by half?
Not Central America, not India, not Africa and not China...I can guarantee you that...
So, with our new President, we will be forces to destroy our economy, lose jobs and lower the quality of life for everyone so a few countries can fight the cartoon villain "global warming."
Even if you believe man has caused it and can control it, you can not stop it unless all countries comply.

Finally, the liberals get something correct...how many years will it take for American liberals to get it right. Maybe they won't because their "global warming" crusade is more about attacking American companies. We can't drill in the middle of nowhere, we can't drill in the water, we can't drill on the land...liberals are weakening this country daily.

Nuclear power is the common sense, obvious answer to solving some of the worlds energy problems...
