Jobless rate bolts to 14-year high of 6.5 percent
Are the Cater days here again?
No, this is not Obama's fault...and really nothing is going to change this right now.
Life is life, reality is hard.
Oil prices started it, loans to people who didn't deserve them kept it going...
The govt is not going to fix it this time...and it shouldn't.
This needs to and is going to play out...

The economy: I think we are really f-ed
look at this:
52Wk High: 14,279.96
52Wk Low: 7,882.51
We are on the way to losing HALF the value of the stock market.
My TSA is f-ed, many people can't retire, the economy has completely stopped, no one can get a loan.
I was just told by someone that a telecommunications business with 6 million dollars of business can only do about 100,000 a week because they can not get a loan to buy the materials needed to do the job.
That is happening all over the country.
And anyone blaming Bush over this is a true moron.
This goes way above the President.
I guess you could blame everyone who didn't listen to McCain in 2006 about Freddie and Fannie, or those who pushed loans on people who obviously didn't deserve them.
Or all the politicians who can't admit we have problems because they won't get elected. All politicians fake it, they pretend everything is fine.
I'm sick of all of 'em, look how great things are with who is in charge.
Thanks

Tax Rebates Deal Announced
Remember, this is a STIMULUS package...
So why is 30% of the "stimulus" package going to people who don't pay any taxes?
How is giving them 300 bucks going to help the economy?
How does taking from the people who pay all the taxes and giving it to people who make almost no money and pay no taxes help the economy?
Then you have Dems who want more food stamps and unemployment added in...
How does that help the economy?
I know, I know...you have to keep buy votes Dems, keep more and more people dependant on you...but for those who actually care about the betterment of this country and the SUCCESS of its people, giving more hand-outs does nothing...
They did give some tax cuts for business, yes, those evil souls who give people jobs.
If you really want to stimulate the economy, you make the Bush tax cuts permanent, cut taxes even more, and get more people less dependant on the federal government.

Bush Calls for $145 Billion Economy Plan
So, what do you think of this?
I guess liberals hate it because it gives the people who create jobs a tax break, as opposed to giving handouts to people who create zero jobs.
I am a believer that the President has very little to do with the day to day changes in the economy. It is possible that policies can change the economy long term. These decisions are not long term fixes, just short term band-aids.
What can we do to get the economy going again?
Probably nothing, its the natural ebb and flow of the economy.

Fed Chairman Says Economy Likely to Slow
Actually, our economy is about to go in the toilet.
Some of it is how stupid banks were giving loans to people who shouldn't be getting loans (at least not as big as they were)
A lot of it will be oil. We can't drill, we can't build a refinery and China is using up all the oil. Therefore, everything will start costing more very soon to make up for it....that equals inflation.
The dollar is going to be worth less than a peso soon.
Things are not looking up right now...but the problem this time seems to be global factors. I really don't have a solution on what we are supposed to do...

Milk Prices Rise to Record Highs
This might not seem like a very important story, but it can be used for almost any item nowadays. Lets just talk about milk and gas. Because of booming economies in India and China, these two items are skyrocketing. I don't see anyway around it. Because of supply and demand, EVERYTHING is going to start costing more. Anything that can not be made fast enough. Then you add in the fact that we are wasting corn on ridiculous ethanol gas that runs terrible and actually uses more oil to produce than gas, and we all our food products are going to skyrocket. What can we do to stop this?

Truth about the economy
The economy is great, has been growing for about 5 years now. Since liberals and the media can't admit that, they make up things like "real income" and other silly terms that didn't exists before 2001.
Here is one little fact that you will not be able to refute. Liberals like to say that the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer under Bush. Well, if you look at the link , the rich got richer under Clinton. Now, in a sane persons head, that is a good thing. But people can only make more money and have it not be reported as evil the small amount of time a Democrat is President.
From 1993 through 2000 (numbers adjusted for inflation):
The gap between the lowest fifth and the top 5 percent increased from $222,000 to $276,000
In 2005, the gap was $270,000.

White House says economic surge robust
The simple fact that their can be an argument means the media has been biased in their coverage, and therefore committing an injustice for the American people...
I know the liberals have come up with things as made up as a "carbon footprint" in an effort to spin the great economy (I think they call it "real income" or something made up like that)...
On the unemployment rate, we're a full percentage point below where they were at the same point in the expansion - 60 or 61 months in," he said. "They would have loved to have been at 4.4 percent. They were still up in the mid-5s, which is huge, when you think about it."
And then the paragraph of the article...someone who actually has a clue gives credit to the man who gets credit from anyone who does have a clue...and that is why liberals never give him credit for anything...
Kudlow said neither Bush nor Clinton have fundamentally transformed the U.S. economy in the way that former President Reagan did a quarter century ago. He credited Reagan's economic reforms for growth in the Gross Domestic Product in 93 of the last 98 quarters.
"Since the early Reagan years, we have had 25 years of virtually uninterrupted prosperity," Kudlow said. "Because of the Reagan reforms - the deregulation, the lower taxes, the disinflation - we have transformed the economy from a top-down, government-run operation into a free market, capitalist economy with durability and resilience."
Man, that sounds a lot different from what liberals say...but then again they think Carter was a good President and not Reagan...lol...thanks for the entertainment...
