There were 4000 screaming kids at the Mainstage Sunday afternoon. It seems that the target age for this show was between 2 and 5, so we spent most of the day putting strollers over the pit wall to keep the walkways clear. Most might consider this show a joke, but once again, these performers had a lot of talent. They can dance, sing and act quite well. It is a shame this is what they have to do with their talent, but the entertainment business is not an easy one and these young kids (it seems they were all between 19-25) probably have better paying jobs than many in their field. The kids liked the show, it was only 50 minutes so the parents didn't have to deal with crabby kids, and we were able to have some fun earlier than usual. All in all a good night at the fair.
I also worked the wrist wrestling championships today, read about it on jsonline.
VENDOR OF THE YEAR AWARD PRESENTED!!!!!
Benno seems very happy to get his award
The crew enjoying the hospitality, cold drinks and good food of Benno's Microbrewery
Due to the lack of credible opponents, Benno's Microbrewery was awarded the Wisconsin State Fair vendor of the year by The Mainstage Security. Benno has won this award for the 8th year in a row. Make sure you take the time to visit Benno's Microbrewery which is located just south of the Cousin's Subs Amphitheatre. Benno was very happy to get this award once again, it once again it was well deserved.NEW AWARD FOR THE 2008 WISCONSIN STATE FAIR:
Bartender of the Decade
This award very deserving goes to Ernie who happens to work at Benno's. It would be very hard to find better service with a smile anywhere in the park. We hope to see Ernie working at the fair for years to come.

The vendor of the year certainly was totally deserving, there are many great vendors at the fair, but after year's of very reasonable observation by the mainstage crew,we clearly have the #1 selection absolutely correct out of many outstanding choices..already day number five..hard to believe how quickly the fair days fly by.........
