Bon Jovi and the Big Brew-ha

Miller Brewing held the greatest birthday party (150th to be exact) yesterday at (how appropriate named) Miller Park. The day started at 1:30p.m. with WKTI, WMYX, the Brew, WMIL, rock 102.1 and the new "hog" all at Miller Park playing music and giving away tons of prizes...

Many people decided to bring their own Miller, brats and burgers and have a nice little afternoon planned.
The concert started with probably the worst band every in the history of the world...so I will not even dirty my blog by mentioning their name...

Then the Goo-Goo Dolls came on stage and reminded us that music didn't have to hurt your ears. They played a very satisfying 45 minute set, but I don't think anyone was there to see the Goo-Goo Dolls...

Bon Jovi was fantastic...lets see how much of the set I can remember
Livin on a Prayer
You Give Love a Bad Name
Everyday
Raise Your Hands
Radio Saved My Life Tonight
Have a Nice Day
Who Say's You Can't Come Home
It's My Life
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
I'll be there for you (sung by Richie Sambora)
Just Older
Born to be My Baby

ENCORE:
Dead or Alive
Bad Medicine/Shout mix

Great show...but it only lasted an hour thirty minutes....about 45 minutes short for a typical Bon Jovi show...that would have allowed them to play quite a few more kick ass songs...

What they did play was fantastic. It seems as though Jon has become even more of a showman over the years...it added to the entertainment of the concert. They still look great, the songs to not seem old, and people have a great time at their concerts...I am sure the 35,000 in attendance had a good time...

The night ended with a great 10 minute grand finale style fireworks display...
The night really ended with us taking way to long to get out of the parking lot...

Well, here are a few nice pics from the show: (click on the picture for a larger image)

Thanks to Jon, Richie, Tico, and David for a job well done...
Special thanks to my father, the Scorpion, for getting me the "free" tickets...

where are you living right now?

Although I did move away to Chicago, and then to Phoenix, I do consider Milwaukee one of the finest cities in America. However, you should know that it is considered the most segregated city in America and with a population of only 550,000 is slim on opportunities for career couples. Other than that. Fantastic!

Yes, most segregated in the country...and not as many opportunities as some big cities, that is why a few of my friends are gone...but the metro area is over 1 million people...

I'm looking forward to more pics, Game.

I agree. Bon Jovi was great!

They sounded fantastic. They looked SO good.

It was a wonderful celebration of all things Miller and a great day for Milwaukee!

i was there on saturday and i must agree with the game's comments. miller really knows how to treat their employees. i found out that the employees were also treated to a private, 45 minute concert by the milwaukee band "BoDeans" before the big concert started. Bon Jovi was outstanding as they always are. the whole day was awesome, with great friends, great music and of course, a lot of great drinking. for my money, it doesn't get much better than milwaukee in the summer...
