Cindy Sheehan Update

I personally feel sorry for her. If she got her way the troops would be pulled out of Iraq today this would no doubt be a disaster. The Iraqi leaders elected in January would all be murdered, the terrorists; al queda and the like would move on in and someone far worse than Saddam would become the leader. Iraq would then become a threat to not only america but the entire middle-east as i'm sure it would pursue WMD.
In other words if Cindy had her way her son would have died for a disaster. I do not understand how she cannot see this. I understand she just wants to bring the troops home so no other american is in harms way, but if you ask most military people they are proud of their work and want to finish the job. Casey Shehan was an American hero he was killed when he volunteered to go on a mission to save his buddies. He obviously believed in his mission if someone didn't believe the mission it is doubtful they would volunteer to go on a rescue mission. This is why I feel sorry for Cindy her call for a pull out will demean her son's mission and every other soldier who has died or is currently in harms way.
Of course I feel sorry for her because she lost her son but I wish she could see by her actions she is making his death more tragic. I will always think of casey sheehan as a hero he gave his life in support of freedom and in the war on terror. Cindy will always view her sons death as a mistake perpetrated by a President she hates and a policy she does not understand. You tell me which way casey would want to be remembered.

well put...
That is a point people like Russ Feingold fail to understand, because he is a liberal and liberalism is an emotional reaction to the world...
The human spirit is torn between not wanting people to die, and the will to win...this country was made great because of the founders will to win and succeed.
The left won by making us lose in Vietnam, and they are slowly meeting their goals of another lose in the middle east...luckily there are still people who have the desire, the will, the testicular fortitude to win...hope there are still enough of these people left..
Casey is a hero........Cindy is a zero.
I love her son, and I honor her son......But she's making a mockery of his self-sacrifice.
He volunteered for the Army, volunteered to go to Iraq, and even volunteered for the operation he died in............He was a great troop!!! And he knew what he was up against.

I hope he's in a good place, but has no way of seeing how him mother is dragging him, his fellow soldiers, his Commander-in-Chief, and his Country through the mud.
No, anonymous, you're wrong about Cindy. She is not grieving her son. Her son enlisted again, in the military, during war time. Her son knew he would be sent to Iraq if he enlisted again, but he went ahead and did it anyway. He was not a naive 'first timer'. This was his second enlistment. Cindy had been an anti war, far left radical for years before Casey signed on for his second time. Therefore, can't you see that Casey's politics differed greatly from his mother's politics?
Cindy is not grieving for Casey, Cindy is USING Casey's death as an excuse for her own political views. I am a mother of three adult sons. I would never dishonor them by doing what Cindy is doing, that is taking advantage of their death, when they can no longer speak for themselves, to further my own interests. THAT is why the majority of the Sheehan family will not join as one with Cindy. They KNOW if Casey were alive he would condemn her actions. Alas, he is dead, she knows it, and thus she knows she can take advantage of him. That is NOT love. That is exactly the opposite of love. What Cindy is trying to pass off as truth to everyone is that Casey was so stupid, he was fooled by Pres. Bush. Thank God, the rest of Casey's family don't presume he was so ignorant. This woman, Cindy is mentally ill. She is sad, sad, sad. There is no love for Casey in her heart at all, just selfish motives.
well said stephanie rose I agree 100% with your points

Thanks for reminding us that Casey did enlist a SECOND time. So, he enlisted a second time, volunteered for the army and volunteered for the mission that unlimitedly got him killed...
If the media would just report these FACTS, maybe more people would see how disgusting Cindy actually is..
Like the MSM is concerned about facts. As I posted on my blog, the media is following the same formula they followed in Vietnam. Only print the bad news, pick some family members like Cindy Sheehan and cover their protests ad infinitum, emphasize the numbers dying, including Iraqi "enemy" deaths, etc. Hagel is right, it's becoming Vietnam.
Vietnam was winnable, until we cut and run. Iraq will go the same road, if we follow the path set out by Feingold and Hagel.
Dean, you are 100% right about the Vietnam War. And all of us, especially those in MN, and WI have been able to witness the 'fallout' from our losing that war. All of the Vietnamese who 'may have helped US soldiers' during the war, are granted 'refugee' status here in the US. (Wait a minute, weren't we fighting to help THEM achieve independence from their own tyrannical regime?) Because we lost that war more and more of these 'refugees' come here every year. Once here, they get a 'free ticket to ride the gravy train'. Somewhere on my computer, I have saved up the actual government reports of expenditures for these 'refugees'. The figures are astronomical.
So now, one can safely assume, that if we pull out of Iraq before the job is done, then within the next 10 to 20 years we will be infiltrated with scores of Iraq 'refugees', who can no longer safely live in their own country, because of their rebellion against the powers there. The US will say, "Oh my yes, it is all our fault. Come here to live. We will provide you with free housing, food, clothing, transportation, and education until you learn enough about English, and our culture to make your own way. We will form advocacy groups(whose members earn 5 and 6 figure incomes) for you, where members will do nothing all day but sit around trying to figure out more free benefits we should give you."
No thanks. I'm for finishing the war in Iraq. I'm even for being more agressive in the war efforts.
I support her loss, I do not support her words. (sounds kind of familiar doesn't it?)
