Cleaning out the junk drawer

I don't seem to have the attention span to write detailed blog about any of these stories...so I'll write one...and hope people comment on something.

This one comes from my friend Poison Pero

This day in History:
1996 - President Clinton signed welfare legislation ending guaranteed cash payments to the poor and demanding work from recipients, ending "welfare as we knew it".**"The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996", Public Law 104-193, was a major political feat, and Clinton must be given credit for signing off on the Republican bill.It is good for America as a whole, and also good for the individuals using welfare. Being tied to the government isn't a good thing, and being forced to work is a tool towards self improvement for theindividuals. It.It may not happen again, so I want to repeat it loud and clear:
THANK YOU FOR SIGNING THIS BILL,
PRESIDENT CLINTON!**

Comment: Doesn't it seem like back then the left and right cooperated atleast a little bit...and don't forget, it was a Republican (Gov. Thommy Thompson from Wisconsin) who passed "W-2 legislationion, which started the whole welfare reform movement.

The American Bar Association gave Judge Roberts a "well qualified" standing... Roberts gets the nod from the ABA and people like Chuck Schumer and Ted Kennedy say they they will go to war to stop him...This is the same method taken for all the other well qualified, ABA approved judges that Bush has appointed, yet the left filibustered and blocked. The main problem here is that the left thinks they are "mainstream" yet they are farther left than they think. If the average person is "5" on a political scale of 1 to 10...libs think they are a 5, but really are more around a "3"...there is a story about Al Franken later explaining that...

Story about a woman who thinks Roberts is conservative...and that is bad....Why isn't it okay for Bush to nominate a conservative...he is conservative, and the country voted in a conservative house, senate and white house.

Many stories about how Cindy Sheehan does not speak for most military families or her own family:
Backlash! War moms attack Cindy Sheehan
Groups form to support President and troops and Casey's father has had enough...
Anti-War Mom Opposition Mounting
Utah Station Refuses to Air Anti-War Ad

Here is the example of Al Franken thinking his far left wing views are mainstream:

Q: Do you see Air America as looking to attract more mainstream Democrats, or moving more toward the left? Obviously, further to the left, you have got many people working in community radio.
Franken: Yeah, I'm not left wingtwing, which is the odd thing about this: My views on most things would jibe with most Americans. On most issues, most Americans are certainly left of this Administration. Not necessarily left, but more common-sensical. Given a chance, they'd spend less on the military, wouldn't make more nuclear weapons, they would want to increase environmental regulation rather than reduce it, they would want to spend more on education and health care, they would enforce corporate-responsibility laws and make corporations pay their taxes, all those kinds of things. Crazy talk. [Laughs.]

Hope to hear many comments about some or all of these issues...it will be easier for me to comment more on these stories when someone shows interest or challenges them...hope to hear from all of you soon...

I thought that talking about Milwaukee was to local, but now you want to talk about a stadium that is attended by 10 people a game...

You're right, this is too Milwaukee. At a minimum is is just way too much stuff I don't even know what to say. Here it goes:

ABA Good - Democrats Bad

Liberal New Media Bad - labelling of conservatism humorous

Cindy Sheehan - disgusting filth

Parents of soldiers supporting the war - good

Al Franken - stupid and in denial

The majority of Americans - don't listen to Air America

Well, 70% of my readers are from the Milwaukee/Chicago area...so I think a little Milwaukee is okay...

And that stat was not done by moveon.org

I agree there were lots of issues in the last blog...but there are no new stories to report right now...or atleast none that interest me...maybe as I go through my last run through the blogs tonight I will find a story worth writing about...

Al Franken is nuts, obviously delusional and schizophrenic to think his views are those of the "average American." Lock him up, and throw away the key.

Schumer and Kennedy vow to go to war to keep Roberts from the Supreme Court?! Oh yeah, Democrats only believe in violence and dirty talk when THEIR POLITICAL POWER is threatened. LOL.
