GOP lawmakers embrace their spending side

God I hate this story

Republicans are going home to their constituents and are openly being proud that they have spent over 300 billion dollars in pork barrel spending....

I thought it was the lefts strategy to give lots of stuff to everyone as if it was a bribe for a vote...

Now Republicans are no better....

I don't think Republicans won the house of representatives, the senate and the Presidency by promising hand-outs.

I might write another blog about how dems move to the right so they can get elected....but why are Republicans feeling they have to do the same thing.

They have won the war of ideas for the past 10 years, people agree with them, vote for them. This is going against everything a true conservative believes in.

Agreed, spending on the right and left is out of control.

hey, remember I am a teacher..
Even though I am not a crazy lefty teacher, we might have to throw down if you come back with a "teachers whine too much, benefits are too good, make too much money."

Here's what you are forgetting: politicians are politicians. If they can get away with it...they'll do it. Full Speed ahead.

Great site, by the way.

Phoenix, good point, it has been said giving money to a politician is like giving heroin to an addict. I do not know who said it, I wish it had been me.

thanks phoenix...I guess you guys are right.
However, republican in the past didn't go around bragging about how much money they spent.

I thought the term "fiscal conservative" meant something...

I always prided my conservatism on two solid points no liberal could debate:

1. Conservatives were fiscally responsible and did not waste money on worthless government programs.

2. Conservatives believe in personal responsibility.

Now I have a hard time defending both of my proud stances. Not only was this spending bill irresponsible, it was abhorrent!
