Wisconsin State Fair Day XI: Sunday August 14th

Country Fest seemed fun, but with all the meet and greats and fan club meetings, I really didn't get to listen or see any of the show. Dirks Bentley seems like a nice guy, and girls seem to go crazy over him. That is about it for Country Fest...I would have liked to have seen a bigger name or two...
P.S. I almost forgot, some of the band members and managers were very very drunk when I left around 11pm.

The Wisconsin State Fair is OVER...
This is a bitter sweat day...The fair is the most fun time of the year, but by the end a person is exhausted....This also means I have to start thinking about going back to my teaching job August 30th...

There is no better place than the WSF. It is one of the few places or entertainment events that is geared toward a family, wholesome crowd. Everyone gets on parents for not keeping kids away from sex and violence on TV, but our "progressive" society has decided that morals and good clean living is boring and must go.

A place where you can eat "bad" foods but feel "good" about it...Where you can take your kids to have their first experience seeing a cow, or pig, or sheep, or cream puff, or corn dog, or circus, or concert, ect, ect...

Families do not spend time together anymore...There are three TV's in the house, kids all need 300 page day planners to keep all the activities straight, parents both work, come home and are exhausted...

But there is something for everyone at the fair, families can go and feel the way all families used to feel. There is something missing in today's world of go-go-go, where the media makes a nice, wholesome family look like they are crazy....The fair can bring back something, at least for 11 days, that is gone from our lives....

Even though I am exhausted right now, I can not wait for the 2006 Wisconsin State Fair...
