This story is a clear example of the flawed logic of the Left. They think that if we just try and be nice and understand everyone, there will be in violence, no problems.
Well, then why are terrorist attacks in the Netherlands?
They are "the most tolerant people in the world"
Sorry, but the facts are the facts. Radical Islamic terrorist don't want to be your friends liberals. They don't want to understand you, they don't want to tolerate you, they want to kill you.
That is where Republicans come in with some common sense and try and kill them first.
Does your way SOUND better, yes. It sounds better, but every "tolerant" nation is now realizing how they have made themselves vulneralbe and weak. They have to wait until they have been attacked or until there are so many terrorist cells and communities in their country that it is too late...(France)
Luckily we have attacked them from the beginning in their own homes, their own neighborhoods...that is why we have been safe ever since.
Some things that we need to do better...
Kick out illegal immigrants NOW
Secure the boarders
Stop being afraid to profile....Its not a bad thing, its simply being mildly observant.

You have a good point, but you cant say its because they ARE tolerant
being tolerant and being nieve are too different things
God you really don't get it do you!? I'm all for the war against terror and terrorists! I don't think you can invade entire countries and make the world more safe from terrorism. You know there is more than one way to fight terror. I just think this particular one is wrong.
Preemptive war has world ending implications. To be unable to see this is really sad. How many countries that feel threatened by us would have the right to invade under that criteria? Would they then be terrorists? THINK man!
well, Iraq is no longer run by a dictator...they have a democracy and a constitution...I feel confident we are doing the right thing...we are not being attacked...we are not being overrun by terroist groups or cells in this country...
Game, don't you have to laugh when the left drops these "world ending scenarios" on us one right after another and surprise - nothing EVER HAPPENS?
Can you name one thing that they predicated that has come to pass? I can't think of anything. But according to them, we's just 'ignant' red state folk ; )
You have to admit he is right...I listen to people on CNN and Fox News talk about how the world is going to end after this....nothing happens
that elections are going to fail....they don't
that the people will rise up in civil war....they don't
and on and on and on...
naivete and complacency are very much tied together. Realistic people know that flowers aren't going to change the minds of ideological murderers, supersonic lead and U-235 is what gets through their skulls most effectively. Tolerance is a wonderful individual virtue. But when it becomes THE virtue, the opportunistic kill the self-weakened victim and never look back

Don't ask those involved if anything ever happened. I see the right is totally devoid of empathy.
We are providing a training ground for the terrorists while they set up an Islamic theocracy. I don't think that is the right way to win the war on terror.
Mike, I dont say it should all be flowers and kumbaya. We must fight those that would destroy us. We must not destroy those who would otherwise not fight us.

Ron, you seem to be a thinker, and that's good. Where I think we differ in opinion (and correct me if I'm wrong) that you have a more isolationist outlook, "they leave us alone, we leave them alone. They come after us, we atomize them with abandon", whereas I believe America, being an unfairly blessed and prosperous country has an obligation to use our vast resources and good nature to not only protect ourselves, but to do what we can to lift the lives of others in the world and promote freedom and peace by removing those whose sole intention is to terrorize, enslave, and disrupt. We can't do it all, of course, there's just too many thugs in the world...But I think it's perfectly reasonable to make that a strong secondary goal both after and during our effort to secure ourselves from those who want to take away our lives and our liberty.
Mike, you are right, I am more isolationist. What you think of as liberation I think of as imperialism. I'm thinking we are pretty well blessing China and India right now. Hmmmmm
