I think GWB has betrayed his base for the last time. Instead of picking a strong, sound conservative for the Supreme Court, GWB picks nobody Harriet Miers.
Why doesn't Bush get some balls and pick someone that would please the people who elected him President twice?
We already have to tolerate his spend, spend, spend mentality.
Conservatives are now going to turn on him...they will look for a true conservative to vote for in 2008. If the Republicans nominate Rudi or McCain, there will be a third party "Perrot" type guy that will guarantee a win for the Democrats. I am very sure about this.
We have no one to stand up for us anymore....no one to represent us....we are the majority, yet the fact that the Dems and the MSM fight a better fight, we have to sit here and take it.
We made Republicans the majority in the House and Senate. Republicans hold all the power and give it up freely. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Hold on Game... Let’s see what she’s made of first... I for one thought our President did good with the Roberts pick and he just might be doing this country a big favor by picking a no name... I think he is holding true to his word...

Well, I call'em like I see'em...I am not going to defend Bush when I think he is wrong
Well Game, at first look it seems you are right. I have received emails from people thinking along the same lines as you are.
And, I must say, some of Bush's decisions in the last few months have bothered me very much, and now this?! It seems to be a plan destined to fail. A few weeks ago, in regards to another decision Bush made, I sent some emails to friends asking them if perhaps we should insist on Bush being tested for Alzheimers?! (Reagan had that problem for quite a while before the news leaked out.) I mean, seriously now, what has been Bush's problem lately?! Is he crazy?! And now this happens, just when I was rationalizing his decision of 2 weeks ago, thinking surely he has an underlying purpose for Republican good that will come of it. Now I'm just wondering....IS he REALLY crazy?!
Well I am loyal, so I will hide and watch on this one before I jump to conclusions.....but that Alzheimers question is ever on my mind....only half kidding around here.

The Republicans will not turn on the President...........Hell they all voted for that pedophile protector, Ginsberg.
As far as Coulter goes, it took her a month to get on board with Roberts, too.........She came out swinging like a mother when he was first nominated.

And Bush has been 100% on all his judicial nominees: SCOTUS and lower courts..........I can't beleive he'd want to screw it up with this one.
He knows his dad's biggest mistake was Souter.......I can't beleive he'd repeat it, and doubt he did today.

You say the president has betrayed his base for the last time. Explain to me exactly when this betrayal took place:
When he selected an array of well respected conservative judges for the courts, in face the Dems face - then renominated them in his second term, just to pick a fight? When he went to war with global terrorism and stood up to the France, Germany, and the UN? When he cut taxes and overcame fierce Dem opposition? When he stood with the firefighters at the base of the WTC rubble and vowed revenge? When he took Afghanistan and Iraq out of the dark ages and showed them the way to democracy? When he selected John Roberts who stood up to the Dems silly attacks in his hearings and made them look foolish? When he selected Powell & Rice, and other minorities to high positions of power? Something no Dem ever did?
You hard cases, with all due respect, need some damn perspective and quick. This Miers foot stomping tantrum is not productive on our side and gives our enemies comfort.
Let me remind you that THIS President has taken a beating from the global left like no other conservative in history. He has been called Hitler, fascist, warmonger, and every other bitter slur the left can concoct. He is mocked morning, noon, and night by the global media machine. He has taken on terrorists that have marked him and his family as targets for the REST OF THEIR LIVES - and you want to abandon him, his cause, our cause, because you didn't get your way on a single nomination?
That to me is extremely petty reason considering everything this President has given up for YOU.

Why did he need to nominate this woman who we know nothing about? There are 20 or 30 judges that we know for sure are conservatives.
When are republicans going to have 55 senate seats and a republican president at a time when a Supreme Court nomination is needed?
I am not going go be like the left. They defend their people no matter what...I believe Bush messed up on this one, and I am going to say it.
The courts is just as important as any other issue. The left has taken away God from every part of public life. Gay marriage will be legal soon and abortion is legal all because of the courts.
We need to fight for this...you state that he found before, why won't he do it now?
