Ruling awards illegal aliens workers' comp
Illegal aliens injured on the job are entitled to workers' compensation benefits despite their legal status, a state appeals court ruled. The 2nd District Court of Appeal ruled in a case involving Torrance, Calif.-based coffee roaster Farmer Bros. Co., which had tried to deny workers' compensation benefits to an employee who was in the country illegally.
THE ARE HERE ILLEGALLY....ship them back ASAP and then give the company that hires them a huge fine...this is another brain dead issue for the Left.
They want to give people who break the law free school, health care and drivers licenses....I think you have the support of about 10 percent of the American people on this one...

Dude, you amaze me. You obviously don't know or talk to many liberals..I agree with you on this too! Quit shipping in Mexicans to work at low wages in the Gulf. Get rid of that little pass on documentation down there too.And pay people the prevailing wage. Ship the illegals out or better yet lock'em up for about 6 months first and I think the problem would go down.

Actually we always have the dictionary. You are right, there is lots a poop on my blog...some pretty good stuff too.
Most of the Mexicans I know of that are presently working in the Gulf Coast region, and including those that were working there before Katrina, were not exactly making peanuts. For the most part that 'low wages to illegals' myth, IS just a myth. When all is considered, they make out better on the $ aspect than many citizens do. Consider that 'Uncle Sam' takes almost half of many folks' pay these days. How much does Uncle Sam get from the illegals? Consider that the companies hiring these illegals, do so for several reasons...including avoiding government tax scrutiny, avoiding insurance and government regulations (ie: OSHA), and last but not least...these illegal Mexicans ARE very productive. They do work hard. After all they are trying to escape a country where there is absolutely no hope of bettering their lifestyles, no matter how hard they work. It's sad. But bringing in illegals is not the answer. There are problems galore for the rest of the citizens who ARE paying taxes, and abiding by excessive government work regulations. Just think on it. You'll get it eventually.

Unless these well-paid Mexicans are being paid cash, they are paying probably more in taxes. The employers MUST withold taxes and Social Security. How many of the illegals file a return to get back over-witholding? How many remain in the US to collect, if they even could, Social Security? That money stays in the pot.
