Laura Ingraham makes sense...

Go here to see Laura make a common sense arguement against Miers...can we debate it in an adult manner? It seems like some can not...it is a shame.

I have immense respect for Laura and other conservatives who think the Miers nod is a mistake. We may politely disagree now but once this is over we'll come together. That's the difference between us (R) and them (D).

For me, I'm tired of the debate. It's a done deal. If she tanks in the hearings then I'll withdrawal my support. But she DESERVES our respect for her service to this President and to this country. Many conservatives are forgetting that. Laura's sarcasm goes to far and I hear regular people tuning her out.
Fred Barnes chided her on this.

This shouldn't be about who went to the best schools or who's been a judge the longest. Clarence Thomas was only a judge for 14 months.

Do we really want a strictly elitist court? Isn't there room for just one of us regular folk? Isn't that why we choose George Bush over a lawyer and a career politician?

Respectfully.

One more thing.

Opponents of Miers who wanted Scalia types seem to be forgeting one thing. The fight they want to have with the Dems is a fight they will lose. Why? Because the Senate "conservatives" are far from a monlithic block.

We all know that the Nor'Eastern GOP will defect as well as some others of the more "moderate" on our side. The Dems and the media will be solid in their fight against a hardcore conservative. How do you fight to win with those numerical odds very much against us?

With a trojan horse, my friend.

Espella humanzee,
You make good points. And once again...I hope you are right. I still feel a bit betrayed that my President did not want to fight for a well known conservative judge...that is the issue people are having trouble with...I"m sure you can understand that...

thanks for coming back
