This weeks media bias

Well, we hear story after story about what Rove and Delay MAYBE did. But why didn't/and don't we hear about this...

Amusingly, it is Sandy Berger who will be coming to Clinton's defense tonight in a written statement to be read by CBS. Sandy Berger is best known for being Clinton's National Securoty Adviser who was recently given a $50,000 fine, ordered to do 100 hours of community service, and placed on probation for stealing Classified Government Documents and stuffing them in his pants. Berger eventually admitted to sneaking out the classified documents in various parts of his suit, and then of later destroying them (and lying about the whole thing). Also, this past week, Berger was in court again after being charged with reckless driving by going 33 miles over the posted speed limit (88 in a 55), a violation of his parole which could land him in more trouble.

Even though the big news event this week was the president’s nomination of Harriet Miers to replace retiring justice Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court, NBC’s Chris Matthews this morning, on a show that bears his name, chose to lead with Karl Rove’s upcoming testimony in front of a grand jury. To assist him, Matthews stocked his panel with the likes of Andrea Mitchell, Clarence Page, Judy Woodruff, and a lone “conservative” voice, Howard Fineman.
Of course, when Howard is the sole “right-wing” member of a panel, you’re certainly not going to get a fair and balanced discussion on any issue. As a result, what ensued was quite a Rove bash-a-thon, with dire prognostications of what the meaning of this fourth appearance in front of the grand jury could mean for Rove as well as the Bush administration.

If a Republican stuffed classified documents in his underpants, a few liberals would have died from getting so mad. I know this is an old story, but the fact that he is going to defend Clinton without major media questioning on his integrity is outstanding. Republicans are blasted on the front page for having false charges brought up against them...

In perfect alignment with the purpose of your blog. Also, indisputable truths. Now, I'll just have to wait and see what Jim has to counter with.

Berger did a bad thing. It was broadly reported at the time. He did NOT remove and destroy classified documents. He removed and destroyed COPIES of classified documents. Get your facts straight before you call them "indisputable facts".

Still, the Berger deal is a small story compared to the Rove/Libby/Plame story.

There are no charges against Rove and Libby at this time. Your assertion that they are being blasted for having false charges brought against them is ludicrous. You have no idea if the charges, if charges are brought, are false or not. Fitzpatrick is a non-partisan. He was appointed by the justice department at the request of the CIA who believe that a crime has been committed.

Again, get your facts straight before you declare them to be "indisputable truths."

This from people who have 2 pardoned felons(North/Liddy)among their prominent spokes people.

How come people don't talk about that? Damned Liberal Media!

Berger had to pay a $50,000 fine and will probably go to jail now...

Anyone can charge anyone with anything...nothing will come of the Rove story.
