Lewis “Scooter” Libby, Vice President Cheney’s chief of staff, indicted by grand jury on charges of obstruction of justice, making false statements and perjury in CIA leak probe.
Wasn’t this case about evil Republicans illegally releasing the name of Plame? Where are those charges?
This whole thing is crap. I don’t know why Libby lied, but obviously it didn’t matter because there are NO charges related to the Plame case…just more proof that the Dem’s are trying to make up whatever they can to get someone to vote for them.
Dem’s should not care too much about these charges…their favorite son, Bill Clinton did the same thing a few years back….I am very sure all the libs stuck up for Clinton, so this Libby story is not only not a big deal to you…but it proves that no one did anything wrong in the supposed “leak”

So far, this story proves than NO ONE did anything wrong in the Bush administration in regard to the Plame case....make sure you understand that...no one was charged in regard to that case...Libby was charged with lying to the grand jury about what he knew....if anyone did anything wrong in regard to Plame they would have been charged today....NO ONE WAS...
And as far as Libby goes...all you on the Left should be defending him like you did Clinton...they BOTH DID THE EXACT SAME THING...

Once again, a Conservative uses the trivial example of Clintons sex scandal to justify the iniquitous abuse of power and underhanded lies used by the Republican party to gain power that lead to death or serious risk.
I knew that you would come in here and show that you have no idea what Libby was charged with? Do you even know?
It has nothing to do about the case that this whole investigation was about...he gave false information...yes that is also wrong..
On your note...Libby should not be sent to jail since Clinton didn't...CLINTON AND LIBBY DID THE SAME THING...this was not my point...but I know you wouldn't be able to resist talking about it and show that you have no idea what is going on

Its not the specific charges I am talking about. Since the Clinton thing is the only big national in how long, its always brought up. I never mentioned that in my comment. Its about teh whole incident. Yes, I know the whole story quite well.

Bill Clinton was a target of the Arkansas Project, an effort begun before he became President to smear him, to embroil his entire term with false scandal with the purpose of making his presidency ineffective.
Starr could not make ANY charge stick to Clinton. So with the help of Lucianne Goldberg, he set a perjury trap involving the Paula Jones case (for crying out loud). He found out through Linda Tripp that Clinton was having sex with Monica and he was supoena'd to testify about Monica in the Jones case, knowing that Clinton would likely lie about an extra-marital affair. It was all manufactured. They wanted to get him and make sure he couldn't get anything "liberal" done during his second term. It worked. He lied about sex.
Clinton was "indicted", but he was not convicted.
Libby is accused of lying in the investigation of the leaking of classified information. The classified information was that Plame was a CIA agent. So it does have something to do with Plame. A sex act maybe leaking, but not classified information.
They didn't do the same thing.
I have an idea what's going on. I am very well informed about this matter. I don't know everything obviously, and neither do you.
I do know that Fitzgerald is not done. There is more to this.

Its pretty simple. Libby has only been indicted, not convicted. If found guilty, its not even the same realm as Clinton.
it doesn't matter what the reason is, they both lied to a grand jury...Star didn't have the balls to convict Clinton...the is NO doubt he lied...100 true Clinton lied
You apparently are not aware of the circumstances. Starr had balls, small though they were. He could not convict Clinton because he did not have the authority to indict nor convict him. You can't indict a sitting president.
What he did was make a report to the House of Representatives. On the basis of that report, the HOUSE "indicted" Clinton through the process known as "impeachment." In the impeachment "trial", the House acts as the prosecution, the Senate as the jury, and the Chief Justice as the judge. The jury did not convict Clinton, not because he didn't lie (he admitted he had), but because in their judgement his lying did not rise to the level of "high crimes and misdemeanors" as required by the US Constitution.
Though you may think that a lie is a lie is a lie, most people see that there are differing consequences of lies.
Did you lie to your children when you told them the tooth fairy left money for them? I expect you did.
Did Clinton lie to keep his wife from knowing about an affair and to avoid public embarassment? Yes. The result was that he impeded the investigation of a sexual harassment civil suit.
Did Libby lie to protect himself and other administration officials in an investigation into the leaking of classified information. We don't know yet, but the federal prosecutor thinks he did. We'll see after a trial.
Is lying to cover leaking of classified information equivalent to lying to cover an affair? Not in my opinion. The reasons and consequences are not equal.

I REALLY enjoy the luny logic that a sex scandal by the man in the office of President is trivial- maybe the woman who put up with it should run for office too- and have her own trivial affair out of spite. I just disagree Game. Lies have different implications and bring different amounts of harm. No one should never do it but we all do it everyday in one way or another and you know it. What ones can you live with and what ones can't you live with in your own life.
