World Series Is Lowest-Rated Ever

The Chicago White Sox's first world championship in 88 years was also the lowest-rated World Series ever.
Chicago's four-game sweep of the Houston Astros averaged an 11.1 national rating with a 19 share on Fox.

That's down about 7 percent from the previous low, an 11.9 with a 20 share for the 2002 World Series between the Anaheim Angels and the San Francisco Giants.
While the 2002 World Series, which went seven games, rated higher overall, it was only averaging an 11.0 through four games.

This year was a drop of almost 30 percent from last year's series, in which the Boston Red Sox swept the St. Louis Cardinals for their first title in 86 years. That had a 15.8 rating with a 25 share.

I simply put this here because so many people say that they hate the Yankee's or any other big city team in the World Series...they say it is better for baseball and more interesting if other teams make it....

Well, I guess just like liberal thought, it sounds good but is simply not true.

Ever heard of a fallacious argument? You are breaking one of the biggies by claiming that something is better because its more popular. Its simply untrue.

Didn't say it was BETTER...I said that many people think a majority of the country is sick of seeing the yankees in the WS...the rating show that this is not true

We part of a few game together and the comments were the same...who cares about these guys...people say they are sick of the teams they see every year...but that is why they watch...to see the people they know and either cheer for them or against them.

I rotate back to my first comment.

Wow! You can't even talk about sports without throwing in a little screed toward the evil liberals!!!! I'm a Nascar guy myself so I don't really care. That's about the only one I like. I think the high salarys and high prices have hurt baseball. If a family could see a game and get refreshments for like 20 buck a pair. Something on par with other entertainment, then more people would go to the ballpark and hence more interest......by the way, nascar is no better with this. The tickets are catass high. They usually sell out. Instead of 43 teams pairing up they all face each other in one event each week.

roxy, you bring up a good point of people not much as followers of teams anymore. I think that is because they change so damned often. Your team this year may have 90% different players two years from now.

Baseball is the cheapest of the professional sports...

and yes, teams are not teams anymore...football is the worst overall...baseball is the worst for big name talent.
