Jack Cafferty Deliberately Misquotes and Attacks Cheney
Posted by Ian Schwartz on November 22, 2005 - 16:58.From the Nov. 21 The Situation Room:
JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: Why, thank you, Wolf. It's getting ugly out there. According to Vice President Cheney, if you question, if you dare question the use of pre-war intelligence, according to that speech this morning, you are dishonest and reprehensible.
Actually, Cheney said the complete opposite:
My remarks today concern national security, in particular the war on terror and the Iraq front in that war. Several days ago, I commented briefly on some recent statements that have been made by some members of Congress about Iraq. Within hours of my speech, a report went out on the wires under the headline, "Cheney says war critics 'dishonest,' 'reprehensible.'"
One thing I've learned in the last five years is that when you're Vice President, you're lucky if your speeches get any attention at all. But I do have a quarrel with that headline, and it's important to make this point at the outset. I do not believe it is wrong to criticize the war on terror or any aspect thereof. Disagreement, argument, and debate are the essence of democracy, and none of us should want it any other way.
(NOTE: Video has the Cafferty remark and Cheney's speech)
Another case that is clearly bias against Republicans, or the reporters on CNN and the Associated Press and every other MSM outlet are too stupid to report on what someone says....they report on what they "hear" or what they "believe the message was"
This is the problem with having so many liberals running the MSM. They come into stories with a filter...they know what they "think" Cheney believes, and what evil Republicans believe, so they naturally slant every story to fit their mindset....as is PROVEN with facts, once again here...
This isn't like liberals in congress just making up claims that Bush lied and the MSM running story after story about it....this story I have here is actual FACT...for some of you liberals, you might want to take some Advil.

Cheney did it in his usual slip-and-dodge way, though. He came out and made this spectacular speech about how criticism was useful, etc. Then, he turned around and said "but"....where he tore apart any criticism that hindered administration policy, like the war in Iraq/Afganistan or appointing judges.
CNN has a stable full of dullards. Cafferty is one of the most dimwitted of the bunch.
I literally get sleeping watching their lineup of human Tylenol PM.
well done EH...they are boring and should not make personal comments as part of the "news cast"
Fox sometimes has comment, but they make sure they let you know it is comming
