The kids made skits today showing the warning signs of an abusive partner....the funny thing was that they were naming the characters in the skit Te-te, peaches, ray-ray, and other stereotype names...

I don't care....but I just thought how it would be different if white kids wrote a skit doing the exact same thing with the black characters...

Somewhere along the way, this online place called MediaMatters must have received my email address as a sympathizer for the left. So I have been receiving their requests for me to sign petitions against right minded folks and ideas. At first it was...shocking. But then I realized the comedic value of these emails. I don't ever respond to these emails, but it's always fun to see what the left is currently squealing about.
I think the most recent request was some sort of a petition to get Ann Coulter kicked off the news. There have been much funnier ones though. I'd highly recommend signing up for these if you need a few laughs from time to time. The web site is www.action@mediamatters.org. What a hoot.

On the lighter side...go to www.twistedchristmas.com and listen to "If Eminem Did Jingle Bells", and "White Trash Christmas". It's not a very religious site, but it's funny.

Religion/Humor together? Sounds good to me. I'm choking to say it, but I agree with steph r. I signed a petition for something about 6 months ago, and managed to get myself on an email list. You wouldnt believe the crackpot stuff I get asked to sign off on. On a better note, UWM Wrestling is ranked 23rd. We have a tourney tomorrow, so maybe higher next weekend. Its gonna be at UWParkside, if you are bored tomorrow game.

Fall/Winter sucks in a pediatric practice.........I've been getting my ass kicked since Veteran's Day.

3 offices, 17 doc, and over 550 patients a day between them.......And we are having to turn away another 200-300 per day.

And most of these kids aren't even sick!!! Their parents are just ignorant........They have colds, or various other bugs.

They need some rest, and some care from mom and dad.......Ooops! We can't expect mom and dad to act like parents. So instead they come to the doctor's and are pissed their kid isn't cured after coming in for the 4th time in 2 weeks.

4th time with a damn cold......Uggghhh!!!

And will be back twice next week too.

Just when I think I have seen all the possible forms of ignorance about health related problems, someone surprises me and comes in highly distraught about some minor health problem that doesn't really require a $500 ER visit.
Peds is troublesome in this area for sure. But when grown adults come in for the same type of stupidity, it's even more exasperating. Sometimes you just want to scream..."Why don't you have a brain!"
When I was growing up, people didn't see HCP's for every ache, or sliver in their finger. People used more common sense about their bodies. What exactly has caused this fetish for HCP's?

Speaking of skits...if you go to www.twistedchristmas.com, visit their free downloads at the bottom of the page. There's a title "Soldiers stole our Kosovo song and made a video". That video is a must see.
I'm not commenting on the political value of it at all. It's just extremely clever and fun. I admire talent. And these guys made an awesome video.
I enjoyed watching the guys without shirts making sexy moves. I miss being active duty...all that testosterone. Those WERE the good old days.

Jim used the word "drivel" on me. I think we need an intervention. He needs to "man up" big time.

He'll never pick up hot chicks using that kind of Nutty Professor language.

pero,
people need quick fixes, they need others to get rid of their problems...that is todays society...

people used to have patience, common sense, and an ability to care for themselves

Now that I think about it, I don't even cover this topic very much in my health class...I guess I should...I have to assume common sense is dead

Thanks EH for the offer to help me pick up hot chicks. It never occurred to me that my Nutty Professor language was affecting my love life. :-)

If I say "bullshit" will that get me more dates?

I know that those guys from Norway who made that Kosovo video had lots of hot chicks hanging all over them afterward.
Jim, consider a shirtless video, make some sexy moves in it, then you won't have to worry about words.

Anonymous said...

Oh no! You probably would still have to worry about words.
Part of what makes those guys sexy, is that they're shirtless, sexy moving guys with BIG GUNS.

Wow, is that joking oging on between the camps? Maybe world peace IS possible. :)

Oh, and team did OK, today.

Tis the season, Rhyno. Peace on earth, good will toward men. Besides, that hateful bitter stuff gets old and tired and boring after awhile.

Seriously though, Jim, saying bullshit probably would help. Consider all the popular male sex symbols.....they know lots of 'bad' words, and they're not afraid to use them.

Jim said...

Aww, ya HAD to spoil it!

"Consider all the popular male sex symbols"

Thanks for pointing me out, steph.

Do you happen to know the website for the ratings of each state's educational rankings? Geez, I really need to find out some info from there, but can't remember how to get to it.

No problem dude. I did notice that you know lots of potty words, and I'd definitely say that you aren't the least bit afraid to use them.
