CBS Highlights Most Want “Timetable,” But Skip How Most See Pullout as “Disaster”
While CBS Evening News anchor Bob Schieffer on Wednesday night highlighted how, in a fresh CBS News/New York Times poll, President Bush’s approval rating has risen five points since October, he pointed out just one other survey finding -- one which matched a Democratic agenda item -- that “58 percent of those questioned said the U.S. should set a timetable for troop withdrawal; 39 percent said no.” But Schieffer skipped how the survey also discovered that the public agrees with Bush and rejects the policy urged by Congressman John Murtha and left-wingers, such as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and DNC Chairman Howard Dean. As reported in the CBSNews.com summary of the poll: “Six in 10 say they would agree with President Bush’s statement that removing U.S. troops from Iraq now would be ‘a recipe for disaster.’" Specifically, 61 percent responded “yes” compared to 34 percent who replied with a “no” -- a nearly two-to-one ratio.
Why does the media always seem to spin things to their agenda? You can't tell me this poll was not spun, can you?

From Boortz:
AMERICAN PEOPLE GET IT RIGHT
We have a new poll about torture...and you can expect the slanted press to bury it. According to a new AP-Ipsos poll, not only do a majority of Americans but also the British, the French and South Koreans believe that torturing suspects is justified. Yes, that's right...the French. Apparently after Islamic terrorists set all their cars on fire, they've come around (at least temporarily.)
61% of Americans believe torture is justified in rare instances. What are those instances? Probably when a terrorist suspect has information that could prevent another attack. But keep in mind we're not even torturing people. Sorry, but sitting in a cold room in your underwear listening to Eminem isn't torture...well, it may come close...but it's not what this poll is talking about.
But you won't be hearing much about this poll....after all, it makes the Bush administration look good. Remember the template: any news that's interpreted as being good for George Bush is buried, while the bad news is covered on page one. Typical media bias
It is clear and easy to understand...there is no doubt that is how the media reports polls
Is the anti-war, biased reporting of the Associated Press is causing American soldiers to lose their lives?
Here's a couple of links that analyze what occurred before and after the media ran excessive numbers of antiwar articles.
Man, I hate the MSM.

Another flu bug has got me. I'm building a mountain of used Kleenexes in front of me. BRRR. Cold weather sucks.
Sorry, all of that link for Todd didn't paste. I know that like myself, there is no time to waste scouting around for the right article.

The idea that America would condone torture is one of the main reasons I feel we MUST have a change. America was always know as the good guys, the ones who took the high road. I guess we are all now just reduced to pigs digging in the slop for our little morsel just like every one else.. This is NOT the America that makes me proud to be an American! It's the other one.
