That video proves that republicans are full of shit! George Bush himself said in an interview that I clearly remember taking place on an airplane, said that we could not defeat terrorism. That we could make it managable..or some such thing. I went on the air the next day and complimented him for finally getting it. Of course now, even though the tape is avaliable, they forget he ever said it.
Cut and run!???? Like we did in Afganistan? Surely you won't tell me we finished the job there....(go ahead just try). Why take the focus off the enemy that attacked us, they are still running around over there? Poor military strategy?
I heard Gen.Tommy Franks on H &C the other night say that the debate and dispute was NOT harming troop moral. He gave them far more credit for being grownups than the Rethugs do. You can push your hate america blah blah blah all you want but it quit working with everyone but the most engrained wingnuts quite some time ago. Come up with something new.That's all I ask.
I have to agree with Whit on this one also. Dems are becoming a 'Simpson family' type satire of a political party.
Throughout the Clinon years, they talked themselves into a corner, and can't quite talk fast enough to get themselves out. It's advanced technology to 'blame'. People keep track of what BS they're spreading around now, thanks to computers, and people aren't buying that Dem BS anymore.
Ron, it does hurt troop morale. Bottom Line, no matter what Dem you hear say contrary to that. Spend more time reading soldier blogs. Besides that, the psychological effects of hearing antiwar crapola IS enough to hurt morale, when considering psi facts. You don't think hearing negative statements about your cause day after day affects your performance? It does. Plain and Simple, no matter how 'grown up' anyone is, it DOES. Tried and Tested to be very effective at 'brainwashing' individuals to 'break them down'.

SR, Im a talk show host so I hear negatives all the time and it DOES NOT hurt my performance. I heard a soldier say that they have a job and they are doing it..all the rest of the stuff is up to the civilians and politicans. That is a good solider....which I feel nearly all of them are.
I and a vast majority of the"Libs" have nothing bad to say about the troops..as a matter of fact we are the ones that raised the stink about getting them armour etc. Their work is done and they did an excellent job as usual, what do you want them to be, miracle workers?....it's time now for phase 2.
Ron, this pull the troops out right now, etc., talk is a dead horse. Democrats really should stop beating the hell out it trying to get it going again. Most citizens have their minds made up it's not a good idea, and that is that. No amount of hollering and carrying on is going to get that political dead horse back up and running.
The Dems need a new 'special cause' to reignite their smouldering political ashes. Since 'special causes' aren't too popular with the general society right now, that blaze of glory probably isn't going to happen.

What do you mean by "right now". I like the plan that says pull out 10,000 a month and let the Iraqis take over more and more.. That would take a little more than a year.

What I'm saying is that all the screeching about pulling the troops out now, is just something Dems are doing for political angles. It is meaningless drivel because the majority of the country isn't listening to it anymore.
How did the Sr. Bush put similar things????? "Not gonna happen. Not prudent."
It's a dead horse, and it's not achieving their desired outcome of attraction to the Dem party, that's for sure.
And I suppose since I'm female, that it is OK to use the word drivel. You know, since I don't have to worry about a macho image and all....:)
Oh..lady with a sense of humor..I like that! I gave up on the macho image many years ago. I'm 5'10' 160. Not big enough to be pickin fights! Mental toughness is my path to success.:-)
