I read this at Legal Fiction:

I’m having trouble imagining any argument whatsoever that could justify prohibiting career DOJ attorneys who have devoted their lives to voting rights law from making recommendations on major voting rights cases. It’s not just that I disagree with this action, I can’t think of a single argument that could even plausibly justify it. The Iraq payola stuff is really bad, but I can at least imagine some argument in favor of it. But not here – this seems like pure Putin.

So I need some help from my pro-Bush readers. What is the nominal justification for this action? I’m not asking you to justify it, I’m just asking for a plausible justification. Anything.

I've been wondering about this for a LONG time. FINALLY Boortz asked it for me.
Any takers on explaining this?

OK .. a question. A couple of questions. Democrats tend to support the UN, and Republicans tend to oppose the policies of the UN, right? Right! The UN is and has traditionally been hostile to Israel, right? Right again! Jews are somewhat fond of Israel, right? Yup! And Jews overwhelmingly vote for Democrats, right? Right again! OK ... now would someone please explain all this to me?

I'm glad that I'm not the only one puzzled by Jews voting for Democrats.

On the lighter side:O
Good for laughs this WE. But it also has the element of PC. Consider that now it IS PERFECTLY acceptable to call lesbians 'dykes'. At least these groups are keeping us informed on the new acceptable PC verbiage.

Lesbian Bikers Get 'Dykes on Bikes' Trademark

SAN FRANCISCO (Dec. 9) - Lesbian motorcycle enthusiasts in San Francisco have won their fight to trademark the name "Dykes on Bikes," a lawyer for their group said on Thursday.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office had denied applications by the San Francisco Women's Motorcycle Contingent to trademark "Dykes on Bikes," arguing the phrase would be perceived as disparaging to lesbians.

But the National Center for Lesbian Rights and the Brooke Oliver Law Group said the word "dyke" is no longer viewed as derogatory.

"Within the lesbian community that term has been reclaimed as a very positive term that denotes strength and pride and empowerment," said Shannon Minter, a lawyer for the National Center for Lesbian Rights.

The San Francisco Women's Motorcycle Contingent sought the trademark after a woman in Wisconsin not affiliated with group attempted to use the phrase for a clothing line.
