Watched 20/20 last night. Its still a great show. Do you consider it part fo your MSM? Cuz it had some awfully touchy-feely stuff about Iraq. None of the gloom and doom you guys say is all that is broadcast. Lots of hurry for the US, and we get to vote, or the insurgents are the real scum, kind of stuff.

That's a good point Jim. Why didn't Clinton lay out a timetable for an Kosovo withdrawal - as now the defeatist Democrats demand of Bush? Of course, one little thing as changed - 3,000 people are dead because of Clinton terror threat neglect.

But addressing your point, the stakes in Kosovo weren't as high as they are now. Bombing hapless Serbs from the air just doesn't say scream national security to me. Why were we there anyway - WMDs? I do remember, when Clinton began the war he had just come out of the Lewinsky scandal, impeachment and near removal from office.

And yet the scandal was still top news on the TV shows. Worse, Kathleen Willey had come forward to say that Clinton made crude sexual advances toward her, right in the Oval Office.

Then in early 1999, still another woman, Juanita Broaddrick, also a one-time campaign supporter, claimed Clinton had raped her. Only days after her story aired on NBC, NATO's first war began against Serbia. Coincidence? (Source NewsMax)

Really Jim, before you drop ego driven issue "gotchas", you should look both ways. I'm just around the corner and this kind of over the transom tactic won't fly with issue educated conservatives.

BTW. Why don't you visit me anymore. Tired of the fact spankings? (Sorry for the long post, Game)

I'm about to type a very shocking statement. Here goes.

Terrorists have planned to blow up the major metropolitan areas on both of our East and West coasts.
Hey isn't that where most of the idiotic liberals live?! Why yes it is! HMMMMM...might not be such a bad idea to just let the terrorists go ahead and help us get rid of the people here that are too stupid to live anyway (liberals);) I'm sure that if Democrats had been in control for the last five years, we would have experienced many, many bombing attacks in these areas. And the stupid Dems would still be trying to 'talk' about it with the terrorists, nothing else. Yeeeaarrgghhh!!!

EH...nice job...not too long...

Rhyno..I'm glad to see a good story published, but I hope you are not trying to use that to say the media doesn't focus on the negative.

Jim,
I agree we need a plan, but liberals running around saying Iraq is a mess are not only idiots, but hurting this country.....period

I am saying that the term MSM is too broad. If you look at individuals, or select programming/reports, you find a much better example. I have really been delving into this. BTW, FYI...it looks like there were more negative reports per broadcast on Clinton than there are now with Bush.

Oh, and steph and humanzee, please do what I ask you guys on here to do, and read jims post. HE isnt the one saying that, its a quote from Bush. So evading his comment does nothing. There is so much argument against you, that I can only hit the main points in one persons blog. Kosovo/Bosnia were genocidal purges which NATO intervened on, not a unilateral commitment by the US. So, any implication that Clinton caused the war is bogus. The reasoning behind the continued involvement was because leaving would cause a major instability(like the Repubs like to chant, now)and regression to prior tactics. We entered Iraq, illegally, and without good reason(sorry, but even the Bush admitted that the intel was flawed, this week). Finally, blaming 9/11 on Clinton is ridiculous. It, realistically, is a fuck up that deserves blame towards both administrations. Only the Bushie cronies with the black highlighters, and a quiet Clinton know for sure.

William Jefferson Clinton was not in office in 2001. Someone else was.

D'oh!

Rhyno, both Espella and I are VERY MUCH aware that Jim quoted Bush (not a recent quote though.)

Please go back and read Espella's response to Jim, and hopefully you will understand. It takes just a little bit of reading comprehension. Muster it up Buddy, OK ;)

Also, since I have read most of the publications about this topic, I know that EH speaks the truth. It's very obvious to anyone with a discerning mind that Jim is seriously out of his league when he tries to debate with Espella.
Espella truly kicks butt big time.

OK...I just had to come back and say this.
When I look at the way the liberals on this blog interpret others' postings, it causes some alarm. We all have bad days when we just don't 'get it', but for the liberals that is their baseline operational status.

Which brings to mind a recent post of Espella's about a liberal, aka Helen Wheels. Her blog name is "Just Ain't Right". As I read her profile information, I realized that description "Just Ain't Right" fit her perfectly, in the sense that it was apparent that she has some mental and emotional issues. I'd put money on it that she is bipolar....and tends to screw up her meds, letting her disease get out of control. I've had lots of bipolar patients, and she sure fits the criteria.

Which made me think.....that could be the problem with lots of liberals. They really could have mental disorders.

the game--

I'm not one to blame Bush or Clinton for every single detail that happens in the world.

Unfortunately for the Clinton-haters, Bush was behind the wheel when 9-11 happened. If Gore was in office during 9-11, the Republicans would not have supported the government like the Democrats did for Bush, but would likely have impeached him. The Republicans during the late 1990s were very much like the Democrats of today -- politically frustrated, they turned to ridiculous conspiracy theories, blamed the president for everything, and opposed the executive branch just to oppose it.

When we fought against Milosevic, I remember clearly Tom Delay and others talking about how we can't win, more diplomacy was needed, the ethnic cleansing was America's fault, we should give peace a chance, compromise, and so forth. Given the Republicans protested *every* military action under Clinton from the cruise missiles sent bin Laden's way to the airstrikes against Hussein in 1998, the inaction from the new administration was not surprising.
