Cheney: 'I'm the Guy Who Pulled the Trigger'

I was away for a few days, and I come back to this.
I was forced to watch CNN for an hour and a half in the Dallas airport....I remember why no one watches that station anymore. The anchors were giddy with delight that Cheney shot a guy. I would say that for the hour and a half I watched, a solid 70% of the airtime went to Cheney.

Is is a story.....yes
Should it be reported.....yes
Should it be on 70%+ of the morning news.....no

How big of a story is this?
Even my black students say this is not a big deal, and they are brainwashed very easily by liberal propaganda.

So....is this a huge story?
the other thing that confused me about this was the Dem's saying over and over that the story was not reported for 24 hours.....I kept thinking to myself....so what???

Well, good to be back....hope my readers come back.

Welcome back. I check your blog everyday. i don't always comment.

You are right. How do they find that much to talk about? It's just a hunting accident for Chrissakes!

I'm sure there is nothing sinister about this incident. It was a hunting accident and hunting accidents happen.

I think the issue the press is raising is the way in which the post accident was handled by the vice-president. Cheney is the most secretive vp in US history. When everything is a secret, reasonable people are suspicious.

Why didn't Cheney release a statement to the national press within say 5 or 6 hours that the accident had occurred? Why did he wait 22 hours? Why did he tell the ranch owner "why don't you call up the local 80,000 circulation paper and tell them about the accident"?

It was an accident, but it was NOT a private matter. This is the vice-president of the United States. He is not a private person. He was not choking on a pretzel. He was involved in a shooting.

Trying to apparently keep it secret raises legitimate questions. Why did he wait? Why didn't he coordinate with the White House to make a quick statement? Was there drinking involved? Was proper protocol followed? I doubt these questions would have come up if there had been an immediate statement.

Hey Jim,
Lets be honest, Cheney waited:
1. out of respect for the victim
and
2. so the story would not be in the Sunday papers or the Sunday news shows..

There were politics involved...he probably didn't make the right move there, but I'm sure the Left would have had some other problem they would have come up with.

The other problem I have is someone like Hilary Clinton talking about being closed to the media...Clinton was accused of being closed and secrative all the time...really, since Hilary was apart of such a slimy and corrupt white house, she should just shut up

Cheney waited out of respect to the victim? You're kidding, right? How is that showing respect to the victim?

That was not the main reason...number two was the main reason..
I just think there was some delay to wait until his condition was known
