This is hurtful on many levels:
1. Calling Rice and Powell "tolkens" says that blacks can only be successful if they are Democrats. The NAACP is taking away the right for blacks to think. Just about all blacks agree with this. How can an ENTIRE group of people think the exact same thing? Not healthy to say the least.
2. This hurts the Dem's by making them look crazy to anyone who can think clearly. If you really believe that the GOP is like the Nazzi party, you are so far gone that there is no hope for you...have some Kool-aid
3. Can someone tell me what is new racism the Republicans are starting up? Which laws have they passed that bring back racism? It is claims like this that make people less likely to believe actual cases of racism.
The problem is that groups like the ACLU and the NAACP used to have a purpose. There used to be many social problems and social injustice. That is hardly the case anymore, so now the NAACP has to call the GOP Nazi's and the ACLU has to try to make sure inmates in Wisconsin can still have their sex change hormones.
Well, when Jim says I don't characterize liberals correctly...I'll just keep giving examples of the truth...don't see anything comperable being said on the other side.

Yeah, Jim played that game with me too. There is no real comparison on our side. We do have nut some jobs but other than Pat Robertson, and who listens to him, the libs beat us in "looney" by a mile.
Plus, they get more press.
The common defense to anything is that: "both sides do it"...but there just seems to be so many examples on the left for many of these and very few on the Right
Pat Robertson, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Orrin Hatch, Rick Santorum, Jerry Falwell, GW Bush, Charlton Heston...I guess those are just the big names that I can think of at 11pm.
OK, I am bringing this up, as well. It came out today that the police dropped all charges against Sheehan and issued an official apology. The question is, did they arrest her because they were told to?
Rhyno...Shetmom LOVES being arrested. It's not like she was victimized. Every single pic out there of her while she is being arrested, she is grinning like an idiot.
She does things on purpose to get arrested. Shetmom resisted leaving peaceably, (as the Rep woman did), so she could draw more attention to herself.
Here's a question for you all. Since they have issued a highly publicized apology to Shetmom, what about an official apology to the woman (can't remember her name), who was wearing the T-Shirt with "Support Our Troops" on it? I haven't seen anything in the news about an apology to her, for kicking her out because of her shirt. Granted, she wasn't arrested, because she left without having a tantrum, like Shetmom did. But she was kicked out, and based on the apology to Shetmom, no one should have been kicked out. Yet no high profile apology to the Republican woman? Hmmmmm. Of course, maybe I just missed that one?????? Can anyone help me out on this?
They dont arrest people to just let them go, without having an alternative agenda. And the police NEVER apologize. Its sounds awfully crafted.
Ya, well both of those things do happen, although quite rarely. Could it have been staged? Anything's possible, Rhyno. Fact is we don't know. That is an interesting perspective that no one else brought up.
Nazis? We're not the ones that define ourselves in racial terms. Kamau Kambou's call to "exterminate white people" last October is a bit closer to a fascist doctrine than, let us say, equality under the law.
When Bond, and other blacks say things like this, (I read the article), it makes things worse for black people. It incites anger in people to constantly hear abut how racist 'whitey' is. It's just not true anymore, but the more they talk like this, the more 'whitey' does start to hate blacks...thinking that most blacks are playing the race card in this way. Sad. After a hefty dose of race card crap in the media, I sometimes find myself 'stand-offish' around blacks in the community.
About 2 weeks ago, a very nice black woman overheard me asking directions through the city, and volunteered to escort me to where I was going. I mean it was an awesome thing! I was extremely touched by this. And I have vowed not to let these other sorts of crazy liberal blacks cloud my perceptions again.
I said Robertson says stuff like that Rhyno...maybe Coulter does from time to time....but the ratio is about 100000000:1.
They all do, you just dont see it. Anyway, I wanted to elaborate on Jason and Steph(that kinda sounds dirty). When black people(not just African-Americans) make a difference between all of us, the do hurt themselves. The reason is because the whole concept of 'race' is complete bunk. Its an idea that only dates back about 150 years, a little less, and was based on poor science extrapolation. Our ancestors developed physical traits which allowed them to better adapt to their environments. Skin TONE, eye color and shape, height, head shape or whatever...it all had to do with physically adapting, not mental or spiritual. In summation, the only difference between a scandinavian and a pygmie, is physical and cultural. Race doesnt exist.
