The Winter Olympics

Olympic ratings are down to the lowest point since the 1980's.
I watched them a little, and here is why I think no one wants to watch, and why we keep choking.
These are kids that have grown up in a liberal parenting society.
The message now is: "as long as you try your best, it doesn't matter if you win." I heard atleast three former pot head snow boarders say stuff like that in interviews the few times I did watch, and it made me sick. These guys can't handle the pressure because their whole lives they have been taught not to care about winning or losing, not to be sad when you don't do your best. Well, we are seeing what happens when people are not subjected to failure and low self esteem from failure....more failure.
Plus, I am tired of hearing supposed Olympic athletes using words like "rad" and "tubular" or "do it bigger" anymore. I didn't think this was the X games or the hippie Olympics. Based on low ratings, Americans either don't want to see losers not care that they choke, or Americans would rather watch crap like American Idol or Dancing with the Stars...

I say kids should try there best or they let down they parents and should be beaten with bamboo rods. thanks for this good post. You are prolly a really good Christian.

Man are you a huge lib...
you have the name calling, the emotional, exaggerated response...
you make the argument ridiculous which is fine since that is what your thought process is...

lets go with your model...oh ya, we did that in the 60's and 70's...worked out well...your hippie world is over

Man are you stretching on this one AAA...I believe that a vast majority of parents have been sold on the PC, liberal way of parenting...even conservative parents...so really, a vast majority are raised this way..

And when you consider that kids are in liberal schools way more than they are with their parents...they can pick up on all this phony baloney "I am perfect" " I can do nothing wrong" " if you yell at me I'll feel bad and sue you" mentality.

very good points webb-lil
we can know the results before it is on, that doesn't help...but you do have to admit there is quite a bit of choking going on this year...

Aren't you casting a few stereotypical stones here? Can't snowboarders be sober? Can't a person say 'rad' without being deemed a dumbass?
