This is just silly. It proves . . . what? Republics are better than Democrats?
What does it mean? What is the source of this "data?"
Does it give you some kind of sick pleasure to opine that half the country is some kind of second-class species?
Source CNN election results
And yes, it shows that Republicans care more about the family, are more successful, more educated, more religious and more moral.
And these again are facts...they are hard to dispute
I'm in agreement with Jim.
For example, we can't infer Republicans are more moral than Democrats on the basis of Church attendance. The exit polling indicates Jews voted for Kerry by a 74-25% margin. Are we claiming that Jews are a "second-class species?" I hope not.
The way you've listed this "data" makes it look like 77% of Democrats are gay and 51% of Democrats are female.
Shouldn't it be that 77% of gays are Democrats and 51% of females are Democrats?
Don't you mean that unemployed are more likely to be Democrats rather than implying that 51% of Democrats are unemployed?
Do 63% of Republics have guns or are 63% of gun owners Republics?
This is a great case where statistics are "damned lies."
Because if you showed the data correctly, it would show that these various segments of the population believe that the Democratic party is more likely to act in their interest than the Republic party is.
If you are a Republic, why do you believe that the Republic party will act in YOUR best interest rather than the interests of the very wealthy and corporations?
It does not show any such things, Game. It's comparing apples to oranges. If 55% of Rep are married w/kids, that doesn't say what % of Dems are. If 55% of Dems don't have a GED or a PhD, that doesn't say hwat % have a Bachelors or Masters - or what percent of Reps do.
The stats might be factual, but the conclusions you made aren't.
I'm disappointed with this post, with you.
Those numbers were how many were Dem/Republican based on how they voted....
For example
Females voted 51-44 for Kerry
People with NO high school degree voted for Kerry 55-44
People who went to church once a week voted for Bush 62-36
I'm not on the side that gets more votes these people...that is the group of people you agree with...the people who don't have kids or families or money or education or go to church...I know, I know, it hurts when you see cold hard facts and realize what side you are on...I understand it is human nature to go into denial...name call...I understand
No one called names. I would think as a teacher, a husband and a student that it wouldn't be so hard to admit when you're wrong about how something was presented.
The whole world is spinning....
Jims right dude, they way you have presented (some of) the statistics skews their meaning. Besides, I hate to break up the Pub-Love Fest, but who gives a shit if someone is married, has kids or owns a stupid handgun? Also, there is no definition of morality given. Trust me, the skinhead right thinks they are very moral.
can you agree that the more educated (until Ph. D) and employed vote Republican?
Nothing spun about that...
I know, the "Democrats are gay" made me laugh even as i was writting it...
But it does bring up a good point...what kind of people vote for each party
