Miller Park vendor throws groups a curveball

Change makes volunteers liable for drunken fans

Volunteers who have raised thousands of dollars for their music programs, athletic teams and community-based groups by selling beer at Miller Park concession stands have new rules this season that will make them fully liable if they serve alcohol to someone who already looks intoxicated.

Doesn't this seem wrong to you? What is the legal definition of "someone who already LOOKS intoxicated?"

Is this the standard cops use to arrest drunk drivers?
Are we going after and blaming the wrong people again?
Is it possible to care even less about personal responsibility?

The actions of a few are going to ruin it for hundreds of charities. The actions of a few drunks and a few idiots who love to place blame on everyone except the person who deserves it.

Come on people...lets do what you really want. Ban smoking and drinking EVERYWHERE. That way no one can commit that criminal offense of selling a beer. The evil gas station worker will no longer be able to force people to buy cigs.

Lets stop messing around age go straight for the goal. IF that is what some of you want, then go ahead and be honest, try and do it.

Otherwise leave us alone

Exactly. This is why it will get defeated in court as soon as the first person is charged.....if anyone actually gets charged.

This just seems crazy...but I can see why a small organization might get a bit worried

This is nuts.

It's guaranteed to force a lot of schools to drop out of the concessions program.

Why would anyone want to volunteer if threatened with full liability for a drunk's actions?

Big mistake.

Once again, the powers that be manage to screw up a good thing.
