Moves Signal Tighter Secrecy Within C.I.A.

This is one of those stories that confuses me...

Democrats have heart attacks when someone from the administration leaks info.

But when a CIA agent that was hired by the same Clinton guy who stuffed secret documents in his underwear leaks classified information, we get this:

KERRY: 'IF YOU'RE LEAKING TO TELL THE TRUTH...

So which is it?
Is it okay to leak or not okay to leak, that is the question.

I can't stop thinking about Berger...think what would happen if a Republican stuffed secret documents in his underpants and destroyed them...man, you see what happens when someone mentions the name of a CIA agent whom everyone knew was not undercover anymore...you get months and years of bitching...but when Berger destroyes classified documents about national security...all it takes is this:

The sentencing capped a bizarre sequence of events in which Berger admitted to sneaking classified documents out of the Archives in his suit, later destroying some of them in his office and then lying about it.
After initially saying it was an "honest mistake," Berger pleaded guilty in April to a misdemeanor of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material, which contained information relating to terror threats in the United States during the 2000 millennium celebration.

A judge on Thursday ordered Sandy Berger, President Clinton's national security adviser, to pay a $50,000 fine for illegally taking classified documents from the National Archives.

This isnt an either/or issue, though. Both actions were wrong, and should be dealt with apporpriately.

That seems to be the point...how can the Left go off on leaking on one side, then say its okay when Clinton's people do it?

First of all, get your facts straight. Berger did not destroy classified documents. He illegally removed copies of secret documents and destroyed the copies. A bad thing, but despite the Republic talking points, he did not try to destroy classified information.

What Kerry said was that if a person leaks classified information for whatever reason, they must be prepared to suffer the consequences. He also said that it is important for Americans to know when their government is doing something that is against the law.

Don't you agree?
