Sen. Edward Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy's father, released the following statement:

I love Patrick very much and am very proud of him. All of us in the family admire his courage in speaking publicly about very personal issues and fully support his decision to seek treatment. He has taken full responsibility for events that occurred Wednesday evening, and he will continue to cooperate fully in any investigation.

I have the rare and special honor of being able to serve with my son in the Congress, and I have enormous respect for the work Patrick has done. The people of the 1st District of Rhode Island have a tireless champion for the issues they care about, and today I hope they join me in feeling pride and respect for a courageous man who has admitted to a problem and taken bold action to correct it.

Here it is already...he is courageous for driving drunk and getting away with it...
Did lifeguard Kennedy tell GWB how courageous he was when he told everyone about his cocaine and drinking problems? Is he a role model now because he is sober now?

Why do liberals have to try to slime out of everything...atleast the disgrace which is the Kennedy family...

Everyone should be on here slamming all present Kennedy's for the disrespect they show to JFK and Bobby Kennedy...

Hey lib's you keep electing the former head of the KKK, people who drown co-eds, Presidents who were known to cover up rape, and mayors CONVICTED of drug possession.

I dont see this as a Con/Lib thing(not being either), it looks like old fashioned privilege, to me. He got his citations, and then the duty sergeant told the officer to drive him home. Its probably pretty typical for D.C. cops. Still, I say they should have given him a blood test so that(by their story) he could have proven his innocence.

Did Cheney have a blood test after he shot the trial lawyer?

It's amazing how slimey Democrats are and how righteous Republics are. I'm going to change my registration tomorrow.

Can you cite for me when and where GWB has admitted to cocaine use?

Was Byrd head of the KKK? I thought he was just a member 60 years ago. What president is "known to cover up rape?"

Bill Clinton raped a few women...

Byrd was the head of the KKK...and does it matter???

I'm talking about the liberal media here...both sides get privilage...but the Left gets the cover up and sympathy from the media...

this one is a no brainer

Kennedy is inspiring and couragous...
Cheney gets drilled for two weeks...its bullshit.

Bush was an alcoholic, are there not people who were alcoholics? Wouldn't the presidents story be inspiring for them...NO, only when its a liberal Democrat...this is making me sick

You have some kind of proof of your amazingly vile accusation that "Clinton has raped a few women"?

While most reporters stay focused on the central characters of Ken Starr's impeachment report -- Monica Lewinsky, Linda Tripp, etc. -- the most explosive new aspect to emerge from the Starr investigation may have to do with a name few Americans are familiar with. In the Starr report, she is known only as "Jane Doe #5." And in his report's appendix, Starr reveals only this much about her:

"On Friday, January 2, 1998, ... Jane Doe #5 signed an affidavit in which she denied that the President made 'unwelcome sexual advances toward me in the late seventies.' (On April 8, 1998, however, Jane Doe#5 stated to OIC [Office of Independent Counsel] investigators that this affidavit was false.)"

In her first radio interview, the woman who nursed the wounds of Juanita Broaddrick shortly after an alleged sexual assault by Bill Clinton, says she remains convinced the ex-president is a rapist.

"Every time I talk about this, it still makes me upset," said Norma Rogers Kelsey, in an interview with talk show host Bob Enyart of KGOV in Denver.

Kelsey's interview, broadcast last night, comes after Broaddrick repeated her charge on national television amid the release of Hillary Clinton's new book, which essentially ignored the accusation.

Kelsey, 49, is now a wife and mother of six children, living in Tulsa, Okla.

Ms. Willey, we go beyond affairs, beyond sexual harassment, and into the territory of sexual assault. Ms. Willey says that in 1993, Mr. Clinton groped and fondled her in an Oval Office encounter, and the only reason she didn't slap him senseless was that he was the president. Mr. Clinton's sworn account of that day, she contends, is a lie.

Are you simple enough to believe they are ALL lying, there are many more and you know it...

Privilaged Dem's get away with crimes I guess...Teddy drown a woman, and now Patric drives drunk and gets away with that...

Linda Tripp said that Willey told her it wasn't true that Clinton had assaulted her.

Did Jane Doe #5 lie the first time or the second time?

Why didn't Starr press charges on any of these accusations? Could it be that there was no convincing evident to support the charges?

Starr spent $60 million and investigated everthing that Clinton did since birth. He charged him with the one thing, the one thing he could prove because he set the perjury trap that Clinton fell into.

No charges filed but one. No proof. Nothing. $60 million. One charge. Nothing illegal by the Clintons on Whitewater. Nothing. Zip. Nada.

Lies, innuendo, false accusations by political enemies.

Nothing but one manufactured perjury charge.

Zip. Nada. Zero.

EVERYONE lied except Bill, right Jim? Star didn't have the balls to really go after Clinton...yes, Star was a disgrace and a loser..

you are getting off track from the point of the post (you like to do that when you know there is no argument for the actual post)

Jim said...

I don't have to stay on your track if you make false accusations to "prove" your point. I'll refute lies all day long regardless of what track you want everybody to be on.

You should stay on track yourself. I never said Clinton didn't lie. I've freely admitted he lied. Starr lied, too.

But Starr had nothing on Clinton, could get nothing on him until he cornered him in a perjury trap. I know Clinton shouldn't have lied and he did. But Starr had to set it up just right to get him to lie under earth AFTER all of his other investigations failed to turn up anything that could be proved.

All of this is bunk about Kennedy. The guy was drinking and taking presription and over the counter meds. Regardless of his state of mind, or whatever, it was wrong, and potentially illegal. The big shame is that he doesnt get the chance to prove he was inoocent(if he was). Our automatic assumptions are that he was guilty, and I agree. All this hokum about how brace he is is crap. He fucked up and now they are sending him off to let everything simmer down, just like they did when those girls were killed. Its standard Kennedy practice.

FYI, if anyone saw Weekend Update on SNL, they got some good shots in.
