Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid accepted free ringside tickets from the Nevada Athletic Commission to three professional boxing matches while that state agency was trying to influence him on federal regulation of boxing.
Reid, D-Nev., took the free seats for Las Vegas fights between 2003 and 2005 as he was pressing legislation to increase government oversight of the sport, including the creation of a federal boxing commission that Nevada's agency feared might usurp its authority.
So, is this wrong? Taking bribes....
Democrats were SO outraged at the Republicans when someone tried to play connect the dots to link them to donors...
So, this is clearly wrong, right?
Now focus, stick to the story...

McCain is sitting next to him. The tickets were paid for....by McCain.
that is not what the story says, where did you get that....lets see the link as dedanna always wants
so, now you have to make stuff completely up to avoid an issue you can not defend
As with the BS Abramoff-Reid connection, in this case Reid voted against whatever the special interests may have been trying to get him to do with whatever they may have offered him.
He also did nothing illegal or against the ethics rules.
Does it look a little bad? Sure. But given what's been in the news lately, seems like there's more ethically-challenged fish to fry.
I knew you would fly off the handle. In that picture you are using....McCain is sitting next to him. In that instance, the tickets were paid for. You used a poor photo to put along with the caption, my friend.
got the pic from Drudge, blame him...I'm really proving the hypocricy of the left here...no one will condemn him...jay tried but couldn't...but the next time some Republican that knows a guy that went to the bathroom with a guy at a Yankee's game gave some other guys second cousin 5 dollars for a campaign, the Liberals will be up in arms
I have told you many times not to use information from Drudge. Now, you get the flack.
Game, how about a retraction? Here:
But it turns out that it would have been illegal for Reid to reimburse the commission for the seats. That's because these weren't actually tickets - they were credentials with no face value given to V.I.P.'s. And according to the boxing promoter who awarded those credentials to Reid, it is illegal for the commission to accept payment for them. Despite that, McCain insisted on paying, and so the commission simply gave his check (written for a seemingly arbitrary amount) to a charity since it couldn't accept it.
What's more, that same promoter says that in other cases where Reid and McCain received tickets that could be reimbursed, Reid paid.
Boxing tickets isnt even a piss in a bucket compared to the whole K street project. Look up K Street project and learn what the liberals are talking about before you condemn them.
Ha ha! Great Jay!
Amen, ron!
Look how all you sheeple are defending Reid...
don't ever say anything about a Republican taking gifts or being connected by someones second cousin's uncles friends dry cleaner...
as for what Jay said...
ummmmm...he still took them, how about not taking them at all...
I think the difference they are showing is that Reid voted AGAINST the legislation he was being lobbied for. Yeah, he blundered and made himself look bad. Also, lets not forget the horrible liberal press out there dragging that poor, poor Con out to dry in front of the whole world with this stuff.
Oh wait... :\
I haven't heard about this much at all...not if Bill Frist gets attacked by a liberal DA, then we get to hear about it for 2 weeks 24-7
I didnt defend Reid. I just said you have a mistaken impression about what I am pissed about...K street project..read up on it! The corporations now run the government..how is that any better than the government running the corporations,(your dreaded socialism)
