Here is the liberal point of view in the story:
Police cited the students on March 31 when they walked out of class to join in immigration rallies across the region. About 100 students had left school the previous day without being cited, but police warned that further walkouts would be punished.
Many of the students who pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Round Rock municipal court said they plan to argue that the curfew ordinance includes exemptions for free speech and free assembly.
A common sense, responsible response to the issue:
Oscar Howard, the father of a 16-year-old student who was ticketed, said he was unaware of the ordinance's exemption for free speech. But he said he still would not have contested his daughter's charge. "What she did was wrong, because she did not have her mother's or my permission," Howard said. "When she's older, she can make her own decisions about what she does."
Man, we need more parents like Oscar, and less whinny, cry babies trying to use slimy lawyers to get away with anything and do whatever they want.
