Rove is innocent

Washington, DC—Robert Luskin, Attorney for Karl Rove today released the following statement:

“On June 12, 2006, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald formally advised us that he does not anticipate seeking charges against Karl Rove.

“In deference to the pending case, we will not make any further public statements about the subject matter of the investigation. We believe that the Special Counsel's decision should put an end to the baseless speculation about Mr. Rove’s conduct.”

Just one more loss for the left...one more thing they spazzed out about that has not happened...stick to global warming guys...no one will be able to prove you wrong on that one for about 10,000 years

Good for Karl! I sure would like to hear the explanation of why he had to testify 5 times though. In fact, I'd really like to read the entire Fitzgerald case.

Wouldn't you?

Sure, I'm sure we would find out we have another liberal DA doing things over and over and over until something sticks...and once again, nothing has

Check your reality fluid, Game. Fitzgerald is anything but a "liberal DA". His credentials are unassailable.

Would you similarly characterize Ken Starr as "another liberal DA doing things over and over until something sticks"? Oh, wait...Starr had to actually manufacture the one charge he was able to get an indictment on.

Sucks to be Democrats these days. Their buddy Zarqawi was killed, Rove remains a free man, and the great hurricane supposedly caused by global warming fizzled into nothing.

Democrats need misery and suffering to thrive. When things go good, they wither away, like the Communist State was supposed to do.

Jason: Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.

There is not one Democrat who is unhappy that al-Zarkawi dead. Your statement is bullshit.

If Rove is innocent, fine by me that he is off the hook. I still have my doubts, but at this point I have no reason not to trust Fitzgerald. So more bullshit.

Alberto was the first storm of the season. So what? Find me a Democrat who is unhappy that Alberto didn't become a hurricane. Global warming has nothing to do with Democrats or Republics. It has to do with thinking, concerned people and those who could care less about the environment that their children and grandchildren will inherit. More bullshit.

Democrats didn't need misery and suffering during the thriving, prosperous years of the Clinton administration and they don't need it now. More bullshit.

Jason, make an argument, cite a source, make your case. Quit slinging bullshit if you want to maintain any credibility.

By the way, we know that Karl Rove leaked the name of a covert CIA. We also know that he lied about it. We know this because his lawyer explained that he did. He gave the information to Matt Cooper. Then when an email was produced that proved that he had done that, he changed his previous false testimony to cover himself.

Patrick Fitzgerald has apparently decided that there is not sufficient evidence to make a solid case criminal case against Rove. I respect that.

But it doesn't mean Rove didn't reveal the name of a covert agent and lie about it. The evidence shows and his lawyer admitted that he did.

a covert agent that everyone knew was "covert" and in an office for years...this is the biggest non-story in the history of the united states

Wrong again. You do not research your material, obviously. You simply listen to your right-wing hack pundits. Because your assertion is patently false.

According to Patrick Fitzgerald, who as we know decided not to charge "your boy" Karl Rove, in his October 2005 press conference:

"Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer. In July 2003, the fact that Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer was classified. Not only was it classified, but it was not widely known outside the intelligence community. Valerie Wilson's friends, neighbors, college classmates had no idea she had another life. The fact that she was a CIA officer was not well-known, for her protection or for the benefit of all us. It's important that a CIA officer's identity be protected, that it be protected not just for the officer, but for the nation's security. Valerie Wilson's cover was blown in July 2003. The first sign of that cover being blown was when Mr. Novak published a column on July 14th, 2003."

What? You think CIA covert agent has to be out in Monte Carlo killing agents from SPECTER? According to one former CIA officer she "met with folks who worked in the nuclear industry, cultivated sources, and managed spies." So exposing her ended her career and put those spies at risk.

But, no big deal, huh?

He is innocent, if he did something wrong he would have been charged...
Plame and Wilson are political hacks...no it is not a big deal

Apparently you cannot be influenced by facts.

I love this: "He is innocent, if he did something wrong he would have been charged...". So you will now stop talking about all of the "crimes" that Clinton was investigated for or accused of but not indicted for, right? Just perjury. That's it. Of all the other accusations....

"He's innocent"!!

Jim--

I have no real beef with Bill Clinton. And as the evidence stands today, it looks like Rove really is innocent.

Jim said...

Jason, innocent of what?

There is ample evidence that Rove leaked Plame's name to at least Matt Cooper. Fitzgerald stated that Plame's covert status was classified. Rove admitted that he did not tell the truth about revealing Plame's status to Cooper until he was forced to because an email proving that he did surfaced.

Innocent of what?

I cited this higher up, but here is a link to the transcript of Fitzgerald's October 28, 2005 press conference:

And this from MSNBC/Newsweek:

"In February 2004, Rove testified before Fitzgerald's grand jury—twice. He told of speaking briefly to columnist Bob Novak about the Wilson trip. But Rove never mentioned any conversation with Time's Cooper. Then, in October 2004, Rove, through his lawyer Luskin, suddenly turned over to the special prosecutor an e-mail, sent to Stephen Hadley, then deputy national-security adviser, that clearly showed that Rove had spoken to Cooper."
