Woman jailed for deliberately infecting lover with HIV

Very interesting.
My students ask me all the time if someone can be arrested for giving someone an STD such as AIDS...
I said some people have been sued (Michael Vick aka Ron Mexico) but I was not aware of anyone being convicted or losing a case.
This is in England, but since we are only now about 10 years behind Europe in our political shift left, and liberal judges think international law is the way to go, I guess we will be seeing this here soon.

Should we be seeing this happen?
Should someone go to jail for giving someone AIDS or any other STD on purpose?
Should the sentences be different for the severity of the STD?
Is the other person to blame at all in this?

Whats next, lawsuits for giving someone a cold?

Absolutely!!! They should definately be punished for deliberately giving someone a death sentence! Maybe not right away, but eventually a death sentence!
I do believe each individual has their own responsibility to protect themselves but that doesn't mean someone who intentionally infected another person with AIDS should not be held responsible.
If someone attacks and/or kills someone, they are held legally responsible for their actions...this is the same thing.

I'd like to see how Rhyno would feel if someone deliberately gave them or someone they loved AIDS...would their opinion change then??? Hmmm...food for thought!
