Cuz their popular. Its a numbers thing. They put out a product that people tune in to watch. It doesnt imply quality or or even validity, just popularity. They have been very successful.
Because there are a whole lot of OLD PEOPLE with nothing better to do and no place else to go. The average age of O'Reilly's audience is 71 years old. 71 years old!
Olberman's audience is younger, and obviously much hipper. But many in the younger demographic have other things to do besides watch cable news. Like work.
Olberman has the most ridiculous show on cable news...every single day I read things to stupid about what he says that I don't care to comment...
Fox doesn't talk down to their audience like little children as in the dry CNN coverage, and MSNBC is usually a collection of kooks-- in recent years they've had Michael Savage, Keith Olbermann, Alan Keyes, Phil Donahue, Chris Matthews -- why bother.
I'd imagine that Fox gets a lot of refugees that don't want to watch the agitprop on the network news.

Not everyone works second shift. Though I agree -- Olbermann is for dirty hippies. (His median age is 59-- babyboomers, not the greatest generation.)

Sorry for breaking my exile here but being in the media for over 30 years this IS something I can speak with some authority about. First of all look at those numbers..2 millon, 1 million..out of a country of 300 million. Sure tops but a very small slice of America. Even Limbaughs 20mil certainly tops again but no where near a mass audience. Yes it is better than liberals.
Why do they win? Lots of catchy graphics and lots of anger and conflict. It is a way for people that are mad to release there anger. The conflict is a big winner and the primary reason Fox wins. Professional wrestling is consistantly at or near the top of the ratings for cable tv. Getting numerous times the audience Fox or any news channel will ever get. Lots of people in this country like a good fight..I dare say that if there weren't liberals on this blog far fewer people would bother to comment..I mean, what would be the point. I have seen it on my blog. When someone says something outrageous the comment numbers go way up. I purged the(they called them self liberals but were really just haters)vicious people and the numbers went way down. I don't necessarily write it for that anyway. It provides a convient archive for material I need. I just share my material with others. Anyway it's the "rambunciousness" that makes Fox a winner...Sorry if that disappoints you.

Fox looks Right wing when compaired to all the others, because you are not used to seeing coverage on BOTH sides..I have proved this for almost a year now...I know you liberals will never get it, but that is the answer
