Kevin Barrett on Hannity and Colmes
Commentary from Fred

For those who may have missed this...
Check out this guy's rhetoric. He is rude, he talks over people, he is for censoring the news. Do you really think he will accept willingly people of varrying viewpoints in his class? Additionally, he really believes those who believe AlQaeda took down the towers are in the minority. I am sure this poll in Madistan was an online thing and he alerted all of his wack-job pals to go vote in it.

Oh, I thought you were talking about Sean Hannity.

Which one?

Jim do you get than as an adult who supposedly can care for yourself, and I guess has a job and lives on yourown...when you can't see that the guy who thinks our govt blew up the WTC is the idiot..it makes me think you get to use the computer at the "special people's" community home...

Game, there is nothing about his demeanor or rhetoric that is in any way different from Ann Coulter. Or Sean Hannity himself for that matter.

What you see as rude is Barrett refusing to let Hannity talk over HIM and run roughshod and mischaracterizing what he does and what he says. You'll notice that Barrett acts completely different when Colmes lets him answer questions.

I disagree with Barrett as to the veracity of his claims. However, he says that the entire war on terror is only one week of his class and the 9/11 attacks are discussed in a balanced manner with all points of view. Furthermore, this is NOT a required course.

You must not watch H&C very much. Being rude, talking over other people's answers, and mischaracterizing their positions is Sean Hannity's modus operandi.

Finally, though I stand behind my previous comments on this post, they were also meant to bring a little levity to the debate.

Your comments directed at me may be meant to be humorous, but I doubt it. They are mean, sad, and suggest a little, hateful mind with nothing of value to add to the debate, only the weak and desperate ad hominem attacks of someone devoid of worthwhile contributions. I thought you were better than that, but I don't know why.

I was being honest...I am trying to think of a way to describe how amazed I am that an adult can think certain things...
And to try and make you feel better...Hannity definately talks over his guests (that he doesn't like) and is rude...
Is that better?

Jim said...

Yes, better.

And regarding "trying to think of a way to describe how amazed I am that an adult can think certain things..."

I feel exactly the same way. :-)

(sorry about being off topic)
Game, you noted on my blog how you think I am intolerant and unable to accept other opinions. Yes, I have reached the point of not being able to tolerate it anymore.
I have lost all my patience with you guys. I'm mad as hell and not going to stand for it anymore! How clear does it have to be to get you to understand how screwed we have become. We have huge gas price increases, little real domestic security, a failed foreign policy and world wide threats.Low wage labor coming in, jobs going out,Less freedom and liberty, secret government. Failed policy all the way around. Will you see it only when its too late??!!! I'm not waiting!

It is insightful commentary, game. Thats how the bullies and thugs over at Faux News(The Sppiiiiiiiin, starts here) deal with opinion that differ from the right wing freak show.

"Madistan" -- I love it!

ron--

Things in the United States are awesome-- you need to take off the gloom and doom glasses, stop feeding at the Democrat trough of victimhood, and act like a rational human being.

rhyno--

I agree with you that Fox is often a yell fest. But we probably disagree on the truth that mental midget crackpots should be fired from public universities.

Jim said...

Jason, what makes Barrett a mental midget?

The Game said...

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
That is all I can say about what Jim said...
So Jim, you think GWB killed 3,000+ people on 9-11, so he could get oil in Iraq....
tin foil hat for one please...

Game: You continue to accuse me of things that I have specifically denied. You appear to have no capacity for cognitive reasoning. I stated previously that I did not agree with what Barrett claims vis-a-vis 9/11. You are doing a Sean Hannity. You state things that you know to be false and mis-represent my position because you can't seem to grasp the simplist concepts.

Game, you don't get it. This man is intelligent even if his ideas are "grotesque" to you and to me.

He believes in a theory that you find incredulous. And yet, I can point to millions of people who believe in a theory even more incredulous: that a devine being created the universe, the earth, and everything that ever existed in 6 24-hours days.

Are they mental midgets? The point is you can be a genius and be wrong just as you can be humble and right.

Time after time you revert to personal, ad hominem attacks proving time after time that you have no credible argument.

Jim--

Barrett teaches a concrete idea that is demonstrably false. That is much different than vague metaphysics about the beginning of it all that has been discussed and argued for centuries.

If Barrett was teaching white supremacy or holocaust denial, the Marxists in the academy would have him booted in a second, regardless of his "academic freedom."

The reason why the left keeps its own crackpots around is blatantly political.

I saw it, and I couldn't believe my ears.

Jim said...

That's not my point. My point is that a disagreable conclusion does not a "mental midget" make.

The Game said...

Jim, you are just wrong here...

Jim said...

Of course I am. I disagree with your conclusions. I must be wrong. It's the only explanation. I suppose that also makes me a "mental midget."

OK, to both of you....bringing up this issue is not going to die. I am very much in the middle of researching the 9/11 conspiracy issue. From what I am reading, the major players all disagree on WHO is involved. However, there are certain facts that eliminate your highbrow opinions that nothing unusual is going on here, please keep moving. for example, did you realize that pieces of steel from 3 TC buildings show conclusive evidence that Thermite was used in their demise? In 3 years, nobody has been able to debunk that fact. No one.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and jason, since when do you need to be a Marxist to agree that white supremacy or holocaust denial is illegitimate?

The Game said...

more rope rhyno?

Anonymous said...

Nice try, game. Typical Con attempt to veer attention away from something that they cant or dont want to explain.

jhbowden said...

Game--

These guys are total and complete wackos. They want to keep teaching conspiracy theories to kids because they desire that such theories should be true.

rhyno--

The point is that the Academy is intolerant of kooky conspiracies on theories from the right, but they are tolerant of those coming from the left. It all boils down to politics, not evidence and reasoning.

The Game said...

exactly...

Jim said...

Which "kooky conspiracies on theories from the right" have been kicked out of academia?
