N.Y. Times Retaliates Against Cheney, Rumsfeld

Beware of travel feature stories posing as invitations to terror.

"The New York Times points cranks, radicals, al-Qaida operatives and would-be assassins to the summer homes of [V.P. Dick] Cheney and [Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld" writes FrontPage Magazine's David Horowitz, who sees the June 30 Times feature article as an apparent retaliation for administration "criticism of the Times' disclosure of classified intelligence to America's enemies."

In the "Escapes" section of the June 30 edition, the N.Y. Times printed huge color photos of the vacation residences of Cheney and Rumsfeld, "identifying the small Maryland town where they live, showing their front driveways and, in Rumsfeld's case, actually pointing out the hidden security camera in case any hostile intruders should get careless," Horowitz writes.

Times Travel section writer Peter Kilborn even makes sure enemies of the two men will know such details as where Mrs. Rumsfeld shops in the eastern shore town of St. Michaels, Md. where the two administration officials have weekend retreats.

He even lets the curious know what street the Cheneys and Rumsfelds have to use to get to their own road.

It's all part of the war against President Bush, Horowitz charges.

"Make no mistake about it, there is a war going on in this country," Horowitz advises, noting that the aggressors in this war "are Democrats, liberals and leftists who began a scorched earth campaign against President Bush before the initiation of hostilities in Iraq."

One of the most prevalent weapons in this war, according to Horowitz, is the New York Times.

Its hard to keep this country great and fight enemies when there are so many enemies living here and allowed to operate in plain view.

Expect the exact layout, complete with locations of every sensor and power line, every guard patrol, and guard-shift rotations, of the White House, Camp David, and Number One Observatory Circle in Sunday's edition of the New Sedition Slimes. They need to be booted from the federal press pools and prosecuted.

Name one president/VP/etc whose vacation digs WERENT photographed and discussed.

show an article in the NYT that have such detail...

They definitely need to be prosecuted for treason, and that's the choice I put on your poll.

Thanks for visiting My Republican Blog, and it's good to see a conservative High School Teacher. This country could use a lot more of them! :)

The left has simply gone too far.

I don't know how anyone can support these thugs.

people blind with hate of GWB and the evil, bully military...I'll say happy 4th to the rest of you

Jim said...

I hope you understand now (but you won't) how supporters of President Clinton felt when all you Clinton-bashing haters acted as bad or worse than what you perceive the so-called Bush haters of today. And you want to talk about "blind with hate."

Enjoy.

The Game said...

well, atleast you admit you are irrational and filled with hate...congrats...
I didn't have a blog or didn't talk to you about issues in the clinton years...so we have to go with your lack of intellectual honesty...

Jim said...

A admit no such thing. Don't put words in my mouth, Game. In terms of you claims of intellectual dishonesty, I think that would be what's known as "projection".

Jim--

For the record, I defended Clinton against rabid attacks.

Blind hate is blind hate, no matter where it is coming from.

Just think, it's only 2006, I can't wait to see what other mud-slinging, irrational, desperate, embarassing, treasonous behavior we'll have to deal with from the left. At least Conservatives stick together and remember to "Stand United".

Btw, nice blog. Thanks for dropping in on mine.

Good to know Jason. Are you bi-polar? :-) (Joke in case nobody gets it).

The New York Times has put Cheney and Rumsfeld in so much danger that Cheney is going to have to get protection from the secret service. Oh, wait. He already has protection from the Secret Service. The bad guys will have to go after Rumsfeld, because...because no doubt Rumsfeld has no protection.

Once again the NY Times has published super-secret, classified informa.... wait. This isn't secret? Anybody can look up where they live? Anybody can take pictures of it? It's not a secret, un-disclosed location? Oh, then what is all this totally stupid hogwash all about?

Assrocket, Horowitz, and Malkin. This is the cream of conservative journalism. What a trio!

Cheney's Secret Service are pretty much just there to catch him when he falls over from a heart attack anyway. Oh wait! There he goes again....

Jim said...

No, he got checked out and certified today. Good for another six months.

July 1, 2006: 66 killed in Baghdad. Still no signs of chaos. Still no signs of civil war.

Here's something fun. Be sure to watch things change.

The Game said...

there is no doubt Bush's poll numbers were bad...he is at 41 percent now...

anyway...why the defense of the NYT...you are 100% wrong about the bank story..and even if you are right about the information they posted here, what is the point?
why make it easier for terrorists?

The Game said...

and the argument is crap when you say that he has secret service...does that mean anyone can print any information harming his life???

Jim, you gotta realize that most of what these guys argue about is almost all taken from either FAUX News(The SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN starts now)or some crackpot blogspace. You cant really hold them so accountable.

you don't even have cable rhyno, what do you know about fox

I'm sorry, I promised myself I was going to go away and let you guys and gals live in your bizzaro upside down world but I saw this target Cheney and Rumsfeld and had to laugh out loud! This is proof positive that the radical right wing has truly gone to the world of the ridiculous. You are going far enough now that most of the country is going to see it. This stuff is all an attempt to take the focus off the administrations own actions and failures and keep people talking about the evil liberals instead. What a joke you have become!

The Game said...

Did someone send the liberals a new page for their playbook...to just say all the facts and truth about the liberal media is just a joke?
Coulter might be crazy, but she understands your playbook to the page, and she exposes it in her books....
I will have to start reading her new book so I know in advance the new catch phrases they will be using in the weeks and months to come...
and you say we simply say whatever Hannity and Rush say...HA...we do this thing called WORKING, so it is difficult to listen to those people...

Jay Bullock said...

The NYT story had no information that had not been published before, including by conservative mag NewsMax.

What's more, the articles were done with the officials' cooperation--Rumsfeld himself okayed the photos.

More here.

Jim said...

You beat me to it Jay. Nice going!

Game, we prove day after day that this stuff is crap. Jay did it here and I did it on your Franken post.

What does Coulter say? "They're going to tell you that I lied and plagiarized so get ready to defend me (because I can't)."

The Game said...

didn't the NYT print specifics...address, pics, and for Rummy...didn't they say where security camera's were?
If those things are true, then Jay is 100% wrong...News max didn't give any specifics except for the town...
Holy Cow man, if the NYT did give specifics and Jay tries to say News Max did the same thing...Jay has NO credibility...it would be very humiliating in my opinion

Jay Bullock said...

It is not humiliating for me at all. In statements from DoD and the Secret Service, they said nothing in the NYT article was a threat or would require any change in how the VP or Rummy goes about his life.

Mind you, those are just the people in charge of security for our public officials, so they may not know as well as the right blogosphere what they're talking about.
