We hear from liberals that if they were in control, the middle east would be a perfect place full of streets flowing with chocolate and gold...and children could laugh and play with gumdrop smiles...
So, how would that happen?
If you were in charge, how would you make things all better...
All give away the answer they will give:
You have to include Iran, Syria, and all the terror group in talks....
Making them feel wanted and loved is the way to win...
They will forget about wanting to destroy all the Jews...
About right?
If not, then tell me what the answer is...

What would you do?

So, Game I guess you would try to solve the Middle East situation without talking to the most powerful state in the region. Just blast them into dust, right? That'll teach them. And it will surely bring peace in our time.
Oy!
Like most Democrats, Jim doesn't offer more than flippancy and pretense.
right..he can not offer anything because liberals have to sound ridiculous when talking about terror..so they shy away
You guys are really weak. You ask me to solve something that the most powerful people in this country and the world can't solve. You tell us what my answer will be (wrong). My answer makes you look stupid, and so you criticize me and provide no argument of your own.
So YOU tell ME what your solution is, smart guys. And remember, your objective is to find a solution to long term peace in the middle east.
Ready? Go!
I'm waiting.
Jim said...And remember, your objective is to find a solution to long term peace in the middle east.
So, you propose big bad America assimilate them into the U.S.-type of society, which you propose is a democratic and right-for-them society/government.
a) These people have histories that go back centuries upon centuries before the U.S. was formed as a nation. Who is the U.S. to tell them how to live and be? They have their own cultures, their own way of life, which they have had since the dawn of time practically (and literally, almost, since then). This is determined by their own people, not the U.S.'s.
b) Your statement sounds not only arrogant as is stated in (a), but it assumes the people there want the U.S. to do anything. It's their country, after all. You know as well as anyone else what assume means.
c) Your statement regarding their "dictators" is arrogant as well. Their "dictators", whether liked by the U.S. or not, are still their dictators. Do they want their dictators? If not, it's up to them to get rid of them, not the U.S.
d) You have proven Jim right in his statements here about your being able to find a peaceful plan (actually, not find it). If you go to take over dictators in other countries with no provocation (i.e., they have done nothing to the U.S. itself), that would be a form of treason against a government in a way, a form of mutiny, and entail using force in this case; which would entail violence, or a violent means (military). In order to bring about long-term peace, one must use peaceful means, or one has defeated their own purpose.
e) Your statement also sounds very much like a desire to bring in a New World Order, where everyone in the world must be assimilated under one government, one way of life, one thought pattern, controlled by one government, with one religion (your proposition being the democratic U.S. way). This is not only morally and ethically wrong, but it's also spiritually (even by these countries' religions) wrong, and is what the world appears to be fighting against as it is in this current economic/political climate.
f) Not only that, but if they really wanted to, Israel could go wipe out anyone they wanted to. They haven't needed the U.S. for military anything in a very, very long time. Militarily, they are quite strong; as to whether they should do this, however, is up to them, and no one else.
Therefore, keep working. Your plan is far from viable, game.
So much for the supposed "conservative" way of life that you say you uphold so much -- no honest good conservative would be like this.
Again, I have to ask: why in the hell is anyone here even discussing this, when it's none of America's business, until blatantly asked to be otherwise???
Anonymous, I proposed no such thing. I propose NOTHING specific because "that is above my pay grade." There are wiser and more powerful people than I who are supposed to propose the solutions. I don't have a solution.
But I do believe there are non-solutions such as, "we need to get every dictator out of there and form democracy in every arab country." This is not a solution. It might me a goal, but it provides no road map or plan to achieve it.
It would be great if everybody was free and at peace with the rest of the world. It would be great if there were no evil dictators. That's not a solution.
Well, you saw my post above about what I thought about the middle east today...so I don't know what to do...
Yes, points all being invalid.
Jim, my previous post was not directed at you; it was directed at game.
Thought that would be obvious.
