After schools close, students seek records

Another reason to watch school choice programs.
Conservatives, don't get such big hard-ons about this program without strict guidelines.
Some choice schools are great and help kids be successful, and many more are terrible and much worse than any MPS school...
What do you think Jay?

My daughter deliberately wanted to go to an alternative school for high school, because the public school system had screwed her big time.

I signed her up and let her go.

Best thing we ever did. She graduated straight As, two years early. They individualized things for her, gave her a really good go (she was a gifted student -- they didn't have gifted programming at that school, so they improvised really well).

There are great choice schools...no doubt about it..
but you are a parent who obviously gives a damn...
there are a LOT of parents who either don't care, or really want their kids to go to a good school and get fooled due to lack of knowledge and skills. There are MANY more bad choice schools than GOOD ones in Milwaukee...period

Yeah, I give a damn about my kids. I also give a huge damn about my grandson. It's a parent's right, privilege, and responsibility to, all three (and then some).

Every child deserves a good education, and it's up to the parents to make sure they get it. It's all too sad that too many don't these days.

My daughter went straight to college from high school; she now holds two B.A.s.

The school mentioned in the article had better teachers and individualized programs than any public school. It is just a shame that they get a bad rap due to greedy administrators that use it as a money making venture for their entire family.
