La Crosse campus would raise tuition to fund program

Liberals will never get it, will they?
You can't force diversity, you can't MAKE people go to school with people they don't want to go to school with.
Liberals ruined every single big city in the United States in the 1970's when they bussed kids from the inner cities to the white neighborhoods.
You ever hear of white flight?
Take a look at census statistics.
Look at what happened to our cities.
Lower property tax values, higher crime, and many, many people running away to the suburbs.
Liberal "diversity" ruined Milwaukee, it ruined every big city. All you have left are old people who refuse to leave, people who are forced to live in the city because of job requirements, and the rest.
Mayors anc Police chiefs keep asking, how can we get people back in the cities?
Well, like every other liberal program that has EVERY taken place, the program has had negative consequences.
Now they are going to ruin school after school in the UW system...good bye La Crosse....nice knowing you....

Most people don't know that federal student aid raises aggregate demand for education, which dramatically raises the aggregate price and renders college unaffordable for those who cannot obtain the aid.

Socialists don't care about consequences; they just like to pat themselves on the back for having good intent and a good heart for supporting irrational programs and policy.

Argh, I meant 'equilibrium price'...

Which is easily countered by raising entry standards. It lowers demand and then cost. Still, this program is all about money money money, and I am hoping Doyle vetoes it. Of course, all the Cons frothing over this will then try and say Doyle is against diversity.

rhyno, if you agree with that crap I have to give you even less credit than I was giving you. Use your brain for a minute...how could Republicans argue that they want higher tuition at UW schools for diversity...that is a tax increase really...
that would never happen

I don't see any liberals on here telling me what I am saying is wrong...well, cause it is 100% true and they do not want to admit it...besides the fact that admitting and giving money to people because of race is racist..

OK Game, I'll bite. I think education is important in this country and it should be avaliable to everyone who has a passion and a dream.
That said this will cause more problems than it solves. Most people going now are struggling to afford it. New ideas are needed but this is not one of them.

Well, considering the U.S. educational system rather than being #1 any more, it's 27th in the world...

I don't think it's worth a thin dime, and people keep moaning and groaning that the educational system needs more money to become better. I'm tired of putting money into something that keeps getting worse. They need to at least make an effort to make it honestly better, before they start whining. Either party.

I'm damned scared of what my grandson will be taught in the schools when he hits school age. Makes me want to tell his mama, hey, I'll home-school him for you.

School, to include college, any more is crap.

Get a grip. Raise the standards hundred-fold, or you'll be fucked for education all around.

Forgive me for sounding so harsh, but it's true. I'd rather go to school in Canada, and more than likely will to finish my last master's. At least then I'll know I'm getting an education at all.

College in the U.S. is nothing but a redux on high school, it's so poor -- I'd like something that's at least somewhat of a challenge. Maybe then I'll actually learn something.

we agree twice this week dedanna...I am scared...
and for Ron...putting kids in college who don't have the skils to do the work doesn't help...
if they deserve to be there they can get plenty of help...
I didn't get ONE DOLLAR from my parents for college...I worked and paid for it myself..

This is what brings the standards down. The kids don't and can't do shit, so they keep lowering the standards in the hopes they can pass English 101.

What a rip.

I say raise the standards that much more, make the kids have to actually work and think in school (from elementary on), then I'll want to help support it.

Oh, and I half paid for my education, half did it on pell grants --

None of it was worth it. All of the classes were nothing but easy "A"s.

Y'know, a thought just occurred to me -- maybe if they would raise the educational standards, kids wouldn't be so bored with it all the time getting their little pee-brained minds challenged, so maybe they'd have to actually work to make it through it, and wouldn't have so much time to do nothing but cause trouble. :p

I know that when I was in skool, the harder a class was, the more it would make me think, the more it was interesting, that's that much harder I'd work to pass that class. It would pose a challenge to me; a challenge SERIOUSLY lacking in schools today.

Game, no arguement with your logic there. I just think it should be more affordable. How much debt did(do) you have after you finished?

18K...
and I agree 100% with dedanna...

Ron said...

Ok Game, I am not disagreeing with you. I am agreeing! I'm just saying there is room for improvement all the way around..pretty much like you are.

Dedanna said...

So improve it, and I'll support it.

I think it has to be improved before it starts begging for more money, either from taxes or from tuition.

Do you agree with this one, Ron?

Dedanna said...

Normally people think it's the other way 'round, but it's not working. The educational system keeps getting worse and worse, the more we put into it.
