Should NBC and/or Conan O'Brien have pulled this opening video to the Emmy's last night due to the fact a plane crashed killing 47 people only hours before?

After seeing and reading about that, it appears they weren't. Definately wrong place wrong time for that bit.
A parody on "Lost "hardly transcribes into insensitivity in regard to a plane crash which people who , wisely do not watch any of our news outlets these days, could have been ignorant of.
People happen to die every day in this country and in the world of things much more preventable and tragic and no one seems concerned.
My heart goes out to everyone who loses people for whatever reason but I think that it’s ridiculous to take this issue and run with it as if it is some large faux paus.
I agree with Cooper. The more I hear of the circumstances and how the bit was done, there's no connection whatsoever. Nothing to apologize for other than to express remorse and regret for the loss of life, just as with any tragedy.
Why express anything? Its a comedy bit, and the people over-reacting are the only ones who should show contrition.
