Pakistan weighed up its chances of surviving a US military assault before joining the "war on terror" after the September 11, 2001 attacks, President Pervez Musharraf says in a book.
In the collection of memoirs, "In the Line of Fire," Musharraf relates how he was told by then-US secretary of state Colin Powell after the attacks: "you are either with us or against us," and that it was quickly obvious his decision was academic.
"I war-gamed the United States as an adversary," Musharraf writes. "The question was: if we do not join them, can we confront them and withstand the onslaught? The answer was no... Our military forces would be destroyed."
This is a great argument for having someone like Bush as President versus someone like Clinton or any liberal. Pakistan is helping us simply because they BELIEVED we would attack them and destroy them. With liberal as President, they would know that the US would not use its military in that manner.
So, once again, liberals don't understand the world. They want to "talk" to people who only understand strength and power. I hope to God we do not have liberals in charge of anything until the Right is able to win the war against radical islam just like the Right won the Cold War. Then we can have liberals incharge to take care of the "big issues" like global warming.
