Lets go all you liberals who "fight" for free speech, for freedom of religion, who hate intolerance.
Why are there not major protests against Muslims who burn down Churches because they don't like what someone said.
Why isn't Cindy Sheehan harassing some Arab leader instead of Bush.
Here is the problem. Liberals protest the USA all the time, the country who lets terrorists get 8 hours of sleep and better meals than the soldiers. The country that builds hospitals and schools. The liberals never protest the actual bad people of the world...
We even have liberals who say that Saddam would make Iraq a better place than the US can.
I just wanted to point out another example of liberals fake stances of tolerance and freedom of speech, religion and choice. They only care about these things when they can protest against the country they "love"

Why are there not major protests from the right wingnuts? Hmmm?
Conservatives only protest against counting votes.
Sorry Jim. Stupid question. It's rarely the right who wastes time protesting at all. The point is when there IS protesting, it's by the left against the government, or Muslims against anyone who pisses them off. So now the Muslims (no, not all of them--please don't try that one) are ragging about what someone said AGAIN and doing so in a less than peaceful way. And where is the left regarding the Muslim attacks on the free speech of the Pope, or the Dutch cartoonists? Nowhere to be seen. The left only protests against those who aren't disposed to harmful rebuttals. Then they act like heroes for doing so.
Exactly, marshall. As a said, the Cons will bend over and bite the pillow for gov't at all times. No balls, no backbone, no protest. Where are all your complaints about the Hindus? They perform terrorist attacks all the time, burn churches(and murder leaders) and protest against our country. They were allies of the USSR during the cold war, but nobody cares because corporations and our gov't get a nice benefit from not caring what they do. Like all Cons, your memory and focus are purely selective and probably based on what somebody else has told you.
Well, I'm sorry for all of you. You all bash each other, rather than take these things on a case-by-case basis. You all use them for political ends.
How about this time, which just may have nothing to do with previous times, we look at it for what it is: The Pope said something that was wrong to say, about a group of people it was wrong to say (for reasons of "lack of tact" and "discrimination"); he offended a world of people, and has brought repercussions on the world for it; and this is one of the repercussions.
There should be no debate, no flack, no nothing about it. That's what happened, and that's what it was. The Pope got what he deserved for it, and the rest of the world is getting what it deserves for it. Period. 'nuff said.
100% wrong dedanna...
and ron, liberals are the ones who protest everything, when it comes to America...but the "religion of peace" (of crap) burns down churches and nothing...and no one has and car argue that...you can just yell that the Right is not protesting...well, as marshall said, people on the right have jobs and families to take care of...they don't have time to be professional protesters...
Dedanna makes my point by saying its fine that people burn down churches after someone says they are violent...they are, and they prove the Pope correct...
The pope, at best, was completely doltish in adding that old quote to his speech. Most likely, he was being insensitive and P/A. At worst, he was trying to stir things up for whatever reason. In any case, he was stupid.
Also, I dont do anything for 'political' reasons. I am not trying to better one group over another. Pubs are so far out that its impossible to agree with anything they do, sometimes. Libs are developing a fringe area that gets bigger and bigger all the time that only gains momnetum because of how radical the Cons are. Its infuriating being in the middle.
Oh, and marshall, the cartoon way back was from Denmark. FYI.
Allah Akbar!
Game says:

First of all game this is not happening in america. Second of all true liberals are likely opposed to violence except in self defense so to say this has anything to do with liberals is just you building a strawman. The religion of peace would not burn down anything so they mock their own religious convictions in my eyes. The KKK called itself a "christian" group. They were people on the far right. Far closer to the people you are looking at here than anybody on the left. Of course in wingnut eyes all evil is committed by the liberals. That is why I can rarely take you as a serious thinker.
Dedanna, If these people are truly spiritual people they would not commit violence over words. They are spiritually sick and are the ones that deserve what they get, not the pope or peaceful christians.I do not call myself a christian and question much about the religion but people should not be hated for thought. Doing things like this harms their cause in the eyes of the world.
I never said the Muslims were liberal...I"m talking about protesters and outrage...I guess I can put it in simpler terms for you
Uh...Game...The front page of this blog is chock full of "outrage". So is every right wing talk show. Who displays more outrage? As far as protesting. It is quite American to peacefully protest. To violently protest, we agree, is not the way to pull people to your cause.
I expect them to react like human beings and, I don't know, send an angry letter asking for a retraction or clarification of his position. But no, they react like animals and burn and riot and murder, lending credence to the very words to which they object. What do we hear from their "moderates"? Very little and certainly not the level of horror one would expect if they truly found the actions objectionable and contrary to their religion of peace. The KKK claimed their viewpoint was based on Biblical teaching (one out of context and poorly understood line, basically) and Christians elsewhere routinely speak out against them for it. No comparison there.
But the point being made, was that the Pope made a statement (think of it what you will), and by our standards, which the left insists we apply everywhere in the world to everyone in the world when it comes to Geneva Conventions and electronic surveillance, should be afforded the right to make said statements (think of them, etc.) and should be supported in doing so. Do I hear an Amen? Or do I hear nothing from the left who decides when our standards apply globally?
So here we have the Pope uttering his remarks (think, yada yada), he's being vilified and burnt in effigy and good gosh, some peaceful Muslims are driven to violence over it, and no one on the left is ranting over the over-the-top response. But oh! how they have no problem ragging on the Pope for making the statement (you know).
See the dis-connect here? On one hand you've got a truly peaceful guy making a remark (!), and psuedo-peaceful people responding in decidedly unpeaceful ways, and it's the Pope who gets the heat. Makes perfect sense. Right.
Everyone, whether it be Americans of either political persuasion, or Muslims who insist their religion is one of peace, should be very publicly shouting down these assholes who "react", not the speakers or cartoonists to whom they are reacting.
and Rhyno, as far as Hindus, I don't know what you're talking about. And yeah, Denmark, that's the one.
And I still disagree with all of you.
The Pope still knew what the current climate is with Muslims.
He still misspoke, and out of stupidity.
If you're going to bash a people(s) who are in a current state of disarray because of a war, then expect repercussions.
This is like saying it was okay for Hitler to bash the Jews. It is not okay, any way you look at it, at any time. It's also like saying it's okay for GWB to bash afr-american people.
It's wrong.
I don't care how you justify it and defend it, it's still wrong.
You are badly mistaken here, Dedanna. First off, what Hitler said of the Jews was false, Bush doesn't say nasty things about blacks. But in the case of the Pope, what he said is true and the response of the knuckleheads proves it. I say, keep saying it until their responses satisfy what WE want. By that I'm referring to all in the world who are sick and tired of the extremist crapola from the Muslim extremists. Their dastardly disposition needs to be constantly held under a glaring spotlight for all to see again and again until enough people in the world SAY, "Enough!" and band together to put these idiots down once and for all, for the good of all mankind. The world needs to be reminded of just what kind of people these are and made to understand just how bad it will get if they don't get with the program.
The religion of peace - believe it or else!
