Here is what his answer was:
Correct in the opinion of the listeners is what matters. People tuned into Rush because they weren't hearing what he was saying anywhere else. What he was saying reflected what the listeners were thinking. Thus, to those listeners, Rush was correct or his message was correct. You may believe the drool and drivel from anyone on Jim's list is correct, but they can't get national attention. In the opinion of the listeners, they are incorrect. There are a lot of people who are or can be entertaining. But in the arena of political or issues talk radio, they can't just get on and be "entertaining" and wrong and expect to keep an audience.

Ed Schultz has been doing his liberal talk radio show for about 6 years, is #9 nationally, is syndicated on 100 stations in 9 of the top 10 markets in the US with an average weekly audience of more than 2.5 million listeners. Rush has been in syndication for 18 years.
what does that have to do with anything?

When I first heard of this dude, I thought they were talking about an Ed Schultz that had been doing Chicago radio forever. I realized he was a different guy at the same time. I heard about him on Dennis Prager's show when Dennis was explaining the little war that was going on between the two. If not for Schultz being a lying coward for not debating Prager and then saying it was Prager who was ducking, I'd have never heard of his sorry ass at all.
In addition, I know I'm being picky here, but 100 stations in 9 markets? That means he's on at least 11 stations in each market. Shit, he IS good!
We have discussed this before. As a person with 30 years plus in radio and one who knows the business from the inside out I tried to give you an inside look at how it works. You all obviously ignored or totally dismissed what I said without a thought, even though I have certifiable credentials to know what I am talking about. This is why I rarely post here anymore.You really don't care what I have to say, you just want someone to argue with. I do come here and read Game. I do want to know what the far right thinks. I have no hope for any progress being made though. Again I say, time will tell who was right and wrong. As it is doing as we speak.

Schultz is just a flash in the pan. Just like Cuomo, Richards, Leykis, and Hightower. As they say in Texas, they are all hat and no cattle.
Marshall your delusions are only met my games inability to draw a proper conclusion. The only reason I continue to post it is because of the pure enjoyment factor of ridiculing you.
1) There is No, that means zero, correlation between popularity and accuracy or 'correctness'.
2) The ability to spin that which other people want to hear, into popularity, is called demagoguery.
3) Using demogoguery to gain money and influence is pure cowardice. When you use a format liek radio which doesnt allow dissenting opinions, it makes you double so.
4) Thinking you are CORRECT, when in fact you are not, makes you deluded. It is symptomatic of bigots and false attribution theorists.
Now, by your post marshall, you have a bunch of deluded people like yourself who tuen in to a bunch of cowards who are only spitting out what you want to hear.

unfortunately you are not correct...I know a guy who used to run the news department at the number one station in Milwaukee of any format, and fills in for the number one talk show in Milwaukee..he would not agree with you...whatever gets the biggest ratings wins...

Demagoguery is what leaders do. I don't consider radio hosts to be leaders per se, but people analyzing news and issues and relating their opinion on them. If I share that opinion, I am like-minded, not a sheep. If the people "want to hear it", it's because they agree and feel the message is the truth or correct. Most of the conservative shows invite dissenting opinions. Rush gives more time to opponents than to those who agree with him. Medved takes opponents almost exclusively and even has a disagreement day. I've heard Prager, Ingraham, Hewitt and Bennett take calls from those who disagree and the only one I've heard who dumps them quickly is Savage, and I don't listen much to him. So not only do they allow dissenting opinions, they welcome and invite them. Try listening once in a while instead of "Thinking you are CORRECT, when in fact you are not..."
Using impassioned rhetoric on the radio to influence or inform is called a job. Doing it in the public square is called free speech. The former is perfectly OK for making money since that's what a job is for. Get one and see.
Now by your post, I find you to be a confused and misinformed buffoon who has no idea of reality and finds pleasure in pretending otherwise. I've heard the spin of lefties like yourself and well know your idea of truth leaves much to be desired. Wake up.

I don't know what you've explained in the past about your radio knowledge. I don't intend to go searching through the archives but would be willing to read it if you want to link it. But all I really need to know is plain for all to see (or hear as this is radio), and that's that no one is buying the lib message in great numbers, but conservative talk radio thrives.
