The Illusionist

It amazes me that moves that completely suck (Matrix) make hundreds of millions of dollars, then a GREAT movie like "The Illusionist" makes only 31 million.
Well, I will say that you should all go out and see it.
If "Usual Suspects" gets a 10 for its ending, "The Illusionist" gets a 9.6....and "Lucky Number Sleven" gets a 9.2

Lucky number Slevin was good, but it was totally predictable. I would give it an 8 or 8.5.

really?
(to not give away the ending)...they did a good job of making your forget that the two guys who were working together had a past...

GAME--You are correct in your viewpoint about The Illusionist--
very well done, especially when compared to movies out there now.

like I said, I figured out part of it, but they hid some parts very well...its nice to have an intelligent movie to see instead of the usual crap

I had the Willis/Hartnett part figured out REAL early. I would jump on the other stuff right before it happened. Still, Lucy Lui's ending was a suprise for me.

Haven't seen any of those. I heard good things about them all. I did see Matrix as a rental and liked it for the effects. Even the story didn't really get crappy until the sequels. Most theater going experiences these days involve talking animals. The missus and I are too freaked to risk our dough on most films these days. We gamble on rentals. We see a lot of movies long after everyone else.

Haven't seen nor do I care about the Illusionist, but I do want to see The Departed. Finally, a movie comes out that I actually *want* to see.
