Bush has deviated from principle with dealing with Iran, and we'll be paying the price for this in the future. If a regime with hegemonic ambitions like Iran can go nuclear and promise to destroy us and others with impunity, some nations are going to attempt to defend themselves, while others will join the jihad.

No amount of talk and diplomacy can provide the disincentive to go nuclear that airstrikes can provide.

I better get a job in Iowa someplace. Because I know Chicago is on the terrorist menu.

Leftists think having anxiety is giving in to fear, but when you have enemies, it is rational to fear them. Leftists think we're all one big happy human family, and the United States is the bully that needs to be restrained. Leftists also mistake having emotions, which is completely normal, to basing your knowledge on emotion, which is completely unjustified.

Fasten your seatbelts, because there's a rough road ahead of us. If you survive.

I don't disagree with the idea of air strikes on Iran. But this is something the left is salivating over as another reason to accuse Bush & Co of being warmongers. So the question would be: How do you deal with the backlash, both here and abroad, of dealing with Iran in this manner. Look at the blathering going on now from the path Bush has taken. How much worse for the party if he had struck Iran. The push to replace the GOP from all areas would be like screaming babies at the day care center. George is pretty good at ignoring polls, but this would be almost insurmountable.

Who are these "leftists"?

"Leftists" have no control in the Democratic party. You continue to try to paint the entire anti-Bush spectrum with a brush that you MIGHT be able to apply to code pink.

It's crap, of course.

The rough ride ahead has only been exacerbated by the craters in the road left by the Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld policies which have cost us the respect of the world, the support and aid of our allies, and what's worse, the strength and preparedness of our military.

Jim--

I'm talking about people like Comrade Pelosi, Comrade Conyers, Comrade Kucinich, Baghdad Jim McDermott, Castro apologist Sheila Jackson Lee-- the usual suspects.

There are a few Dems that have their heads on straight, like Jane Harman and Joe Biden, but I suspect they will be demoted when the leftist hardliners consolidate their power.
