HERE WE GO!!!!
Dem's spend no time showing their true colors...
This is a great sign for conservatives looking to get power back in two years....
Investigate anything and everything, put out and lose in Iraq, raise taxes, and remind us what a "real" liberal is all about...
We will be back to power soon....if we can get CONSERVATIVES to run our party again.

Read the whole article, Game. There is some context beneath the headline and the first paragraph.
What? You expect the Dems to lie down and play dead instead of actually performing their job of oversight?
You don't think it's worthwhile to find out why governments at all levels failed with Katrina?
You don't think it's worthwhile to find out if and how billions of dollars of US money is disappearing in Iraq?
You don't think it is worthwhile to find out how and why governmental agencies are thwarting US law?
What was the second most given answer in exit polls as to why people voted against the Republics? Oh yeah. Corruption.
Game--
I agree with you. However, if *we* want to have sustainable power, we need to do a better job defending the philosophy we stand for.
Jim--
Iraq does require responsible oversight given the sheer amount of money we're dumping there. I disagree about Katrina. It appears Florida, which was hit with six hurricanes in the last 2-3 years without a breakdown in government at any level, does not lie on geological feature known as the Bush's Fault. However Louisiana does lie on the Bush's Fault, given demanding the Democrats clean up their own incompetence and corruption in that state is too much to ask.
Jason, did you notice I said "govenment at all levels" regarding Katrina. Furthermore, there are no levees in Florida and if the Federal Government did well in supporting FLA during their hurricanes, why did it do so miserably (along with local and state) in Katrina?
And I don't care if we're only spending $150 dollars in Iraq. If Halliburton is war-profiteering, and many believe they are, then that is certainly worth investigating just as Truman did in WWII.
Game you seem to have a great disdain for any kind of investigation or accountability. I would think as a conservative you would want to see that your money was being properly utilized and spent. I know I do. I am all for investigations that hold governments feet to the fire. The right is all for it only if it is Dems who are being investigated. That is insincere at the least. At least Jason seems to be concerned where his money is going.
Accountability is always important. You'll get no argument there from anyone, including Game. However, the Dems call has always followed the implication of impropriety on the part of this administration. For the Dems, accusations are enough to convict. Unfortunately for them, they must follow the law. So, they instigate probes and investigations, which are fishing expeditions, to find anything they can spin into criminal acts. I don't recall ever hearing of anything that would suggest any wrongdoing before I heard the Dems insist there must be. Now, with the Dem victory, they see this as their chance to pay back for the impeachment of the boner president. It's far less that there "might" be something illegal, it's more that they WANT something to be illegal. It's not that there "was" negligence during Katrina, but that they WANT to find something they can use as an example of negligence. Basically, they'll find a reason to indict the president for not being clairvoyant.
More realistically, marshall, they have seen the utter lack of oversight, and want to make sure the ship isnt leaking at this point. Is there some desire to find impropriety? Yes. As certain as there is always something to find. We'll find out, as game said, what the Dems are full of when they make a move after this.
Marshall said, "I don't recall ever hearing of anything that would suggest any wrongdoing before I heard the Dems insist there must be."
Then you don't read newspapers, news magazines, books by respected investigative authors, or watch TV news because it has all been out there independent of the Democrats.
Marshall said, "the Dems call has always followed the implication of impropriety on the part of this administration. For the Dems, accusations are enough to convict. Unfortunately for them, they must follow the law. So, they instigate probes and investigations, which are fishing expeditions, to find anything they can spin into criminal acts."
Now substitute Republics for Dems in the above and go back to 1993 through 2000 and apply this to the Clinton administration. There was no credible evidence of any wrong doing and nothing was EVER brought to trial much less indictment until Clinton foolishly fell into a perjury trap set by Goldberg, Tripp, and Starr. (Lest you accuse me of not criticizing Clinton, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE LIED UNDER OATH.)
Amen Jim--living under a rock if you havent heard any hints of maladministration. I can't believe someone that appears to be somewhat informed would even venture that proposition. You suprise me Marshall. Are you turning to a knee jerker?
Wow! All three of you. Well then, I'm sure you have something specific in mind by way of example.
I'll be happy to peruse it. In the meantime, we'll have to go back to the first days of the Whitewater investigation to see who fired the first shot there. Was it some Republican with a hard on or someone who got fucked on the deal? (Definitely more work than I wanna do.)
