As with all killers put to death, Saddam will be unable to kill again.
Watch for bleeding heart Democrats to follow Ramsey Clark's lead and protest Saddam getting the reward Saddam richly earned.
Have they tried him on all the charges against him? I thought this was only the first of several trials.
Anyway, 30 days should put the execution right before Bush's state of the union message. That will give him something positive to talk about, I guess.
Insofar as the impact this has on the Wahabists, this would mean a great defeat. If it will mean anything as far as the situation in Iraq remains to be seen. How much sway do the Wahabists have over the Sunni population, or has the sectarian gang fights taken precedence? If the militias are the big dogs on the street, there may only be a token symbolic act of retribution for the execution.
I agree with Marshall pretty much on this as far as the impact in Iraq. Other than the Baathists, I don't think anybody in the region is going to miss Saddam or mourn his death. He has no religious connection at all so I don't know why the Wahabists should care. I agree that any reaction will be pretty much symbolic.

Apparently, Saddam has issues letters asking all Iraqis to stop hating. How ironic....

Color in the evil liberal and make sure you color the earth scorched PCD. This is more of your twisted hate fantasy. ..There may be a few but the very vast majority of Americans will not react this way. Of course you will find one or two, call them liberals and rationalize your twisted thought.
