There was no doubt in my mind that a guy who was found with $9,000 in his freezer would get re-elected by Democrats.
We have seen time and time again they have no standards when it comes to who they vote for....
And that is why Dem's do not have to quit when they get caught in scandal...their morally bankrupt followers will stick with them

I think we learned during the run up to the '92 election that character doesn't matter. And all through the Clinton admin, and even now for that matter, talk of his personal indescretions brings only yawns from the left. So with him, the gay Congressman who had an affair with a page, etc, one who could be bribed wouldn't even register on their radar. Unless it was a Republican. Then they scream about cultures of corruption.

At one time in this country the press were considered the "watch dogs" of American politics. This is a perfect example of why Republicans should be in charge on a state or national level. Democrats too often get a “pass” from the media. So if you like the idea of thousands of reporters looking for any dirt they can find, and keeping an eye on the politicians, you’d have to vote Republican.
The only reason the Bill/Monica thing was such big news is because sex sells. Even the liberal media was not going to pass up dollars for the sake of their biased support of Dems.
Jefferson should not get a pass and it is shameful he was reelected. Louisana politics has always been a little shady but I certainly would not excuse this. He needs to go to jail. He has been stripped of his committee assignments in congress by the leadership, which shows you how stupid the voters in that state are. They elected a person that has no pull or input into anything..even in his own party.
Democrats love corruption and ethicless politicians who are Democrats. Jim McDermott of WA state just got nailed by the House (So-called) Ethics committee for passing taped phone calls to the NYTimes. Yet, McDermott was one of the biggest screamers about the NSA listening in on calls to and from known terrorists.
If Pelosi is being truthful about cleaning the House, she'll refuse to even seat Jefferson and McDermott. She has the power to do it. Google William Clayton Powell if you don't believe it.
