Former President Gerald Ford Dies at 93

I didn't write anything right away because I did not know what to say.
So I guess I'll open up the floor...
What should be the legacy of Gerald Ford?

He was handed a bag of shit and urged to do the best with it that he could. I think he did at least that. His pardon of Nixon was, I think, the right thing to do for the sake of the nation, and it couldn't be done without some thought as to it's affect on his political career. That's pretty cool.

His only real mistake was the pardon for Nixon. It was terrible for the nation.

pretty much all politicians agree that that pardon was not popular, but the correct thing to do...and the fact that rhyno says it was the wrong thing to do confirms that fact that is was the right thing to do

Scorpion says---
The pardon cost him his own chance at being elected President,
and doomed America to the Presidency of Jimmy Carter. His own
integrity and beliefs were more important than his political future. That is very cool.

if rhyno meant that Ford giving a pardon to Nixon, which gave us the worst President maybe in history was why the pardon was bad...then I agree
