This story confuses me. Why would conservatives do this to his truck?
I mean, liberals are tolerant and peaceful people, so they couldn't have done this.

What in the world makes you think that there is a liberal or conservative angle to this at all? Vandals are vandals.
Then what is the motivation to vandalize his patriotic van?
What is the motivation to key anybody's ride? Might have been juvenile deliquents. Why do you automatically blame all bad things on people with whom you disagree?
I use my superior brain and common sense...this was targeted...and liberals hate the war and even though they pretent to "support the troops" they do not...so I am not just blaming people I disagree with, I am using something liberals who are against profiling don't have...common sense
One, liberals don't shop at Wal-Mart. Well, maybe some do. I don't.
Two, the decals that were damaged were apparently the barbed wire, not the American flag or the bald eagle. If someone were really trying to make a political statement, wouldn't they have aimed for the symbols of our country, rather than the barbed wire? In fact, from the way the guy talks about his truck, these vandals must have had to go out of their way not to hit one of the many flags.
Three, no one in the story assigns blame to anyone but stupid vandals--not the truck's owner, not the police, not the reporter. The man is not even identified polictically. You can stereoptype him (Wal-Mart shopper, veteran, truck owner) and assume he's conservative or Republican, but that doesn't make him so. And you really can't stereotype the people who don't appear in the story--the actual vandals--at all.
