U.S. hurricane aid fraud likely tops $1 bln: report

Remember when all the liberals, especially Wisconsin liberals were all over Jim Sensenbrenner for not voting for the hurricane relief package because it would mostly be stolen and spent poorly...
Who is correct now?
I'll take apologies for Jim on this web site....so liberals, line up...

A gov’t program wrought with fraud? Tell me it ain’t so.

Why Game, you know all that matters is the intent. The intention was to help those in need. If you insist on such things as safeguards and accounting controls you’re being callous and uncaring. Reality should never be considered if it would postpone the opportunity for liberals to thump their chest and say “look at me, I’m so caring”.

The honorable Sensenbrenner should apologize, after all if there’s was a chance that a billion dollars would be flushed down the sewer, he should have supported sending 1 billion more than was originally proposed.

telling how no liberals will talk on this one...cause they are simply 100% wrong again...
All liberalism means well, and all liberalism works poorly or not at all

You get no apology from me. I don't know what you are talking about. I never said word one about Sensenbrenner on this subject.

Liberals weren't running FEMA. An incompetent agency filled with incompetent political appointees is responsible.

Jim,

Do you care to make a wager as to the political leanings of the vast majority of the bureaucrats that staff this agency, or any other bureaucracy as far as that goes? While you’re at it, you should also consider the outcry and indignation, heard from Dems every time reform (of agencies that hand out money) is attempted.

So, yes those in charge are ultimately responsible, but you also have to consider the culture of incompetence created by decades of left-leaning bureaucrats, fostered by left-leaning politicians, who fight with everything at their disposal when reform is attempted.

Okay, we have confirmation that Jim did not say anything, that leaves about 20 million that got all over the congressman who have to come here and say why they have not said they were sorry yet

"the political leanings of the vast majority of the bureaucrats that staff this agency". "Decades of left-leaning bureaucrats".

What is the basis for these assertions?
